Saintsational and Big Footy forumites are working towards the same goal:

Player sponsorship of Leigh Fisher

The total cost of sponsorship is $1500.00

A secure payment service has been set up using the Big Footy protocol which was used last year for player sponsorships for other clubs' players.

Why should these other clubs reap benefits that the Saints do not?

We need to band together and put our money where our heart is:

St Kildonan (me) will receive notification of each donation but I will need you to confirm your Saintsational identity (either by PM or post) so that I can keep account of all contributors and make sure everything is all above board and financially valid.

The plan is to donate in units of $10.00.

For each ($10) unit you put towards the sponsorship you get one name put in the hat for the draw of the benefits.

Sponsorship benefits:

Two (2) tickets to the 2007 Trevor Barker Award

Two (2) tickets to a Player Sponsorship dinner

One (1) signed and framed memorabilia piece by the sponsored player (jumper and photo with player)

Access to purchase match day hospitality and events at the going corporate rate

Access to purchase two (2) Final and Grand Final tickets in games where St Kilda is the participant, at the going corporate rate

Player sponsorship recognition on saints.com.au.

It seems to have received a good response at Saintsational.

I'm keen to contribute. I've just started a new job so I'm not sure how many shares I can buy at this stage but I'm definitely in.

I'm also rapt that the player chosen wasn't Barry Brooks.

Welcome to BigFooty Goodie23, SASaint, Polly pocket.

I wanted to make sure I didn't step on any toes - so I sent a PM to Damien @ Saintsational more or less asking for his OK to post the link. Being the holiday period I can understand that some people have more time than others and he hasn't quite got back to me yet.

If you discover the link here on BigFooty then I encourage you to go ahead and donate. All of the money will be going to the StKilda FC. None will go to BigFooty and I doubt that any will go to Saintsational.

Donations to Saintsational are towards a great cause. SS is clearly the premium bulletin board dedicated to the Saints and any monies donated to it keep the board running.

I just don't think it is kosher to raise money through a facility set up by BigFooty and then donate some of it to Saintsational. I haven't sought any advice on this, though.

Ah I see now. I have two $10 contributions from Saints supporters in my personal bank account I am using for the Josh Kennedy sponsorship. Seems my details have been taken from one of my threads and passed on. I have PM'd the two supporters. If they give me their account details I will transfer the money back or I will transfer it directly to the Saints account in their name.

I apologise for my lack of presence recently.

My computer broke down and my financial situation has been tight so that I haven't been able to replace it.

I see that there has been some concern that I have run off with the sponsorship money. I assure you it is all safe. Even if I was so inclined, I could not abscond with the sponsorship money. It is in a trust account linked with BigFooty. I merely have been inactive. Much of the information I had been gathering on the donors was lost. But that is of no concern as apparently it is all here and I needn't have worried so.

To smooth things out, I think it is best that I share all the details with you and give Sainter the e-mail codes that I have.

Jas - yours was there - I must have deleted it when I "edited" the list to remove phone numbers and e-mails. I also deleted the name above yours (olddarknavys) who returned pledges that were accidentally credited to the Carlton.

The total is the same, but your pledge seems odd:

You pledge $100 but it seems that the bigfooty account is credited $150

Can you shed any light on that?

I have another $20 for St Kilda sponsorship sitting in my account from Sam Morrissy.

Can the organisers please check account details given out or check with Chief what number is behind the BF payment page. Seems strange that most are making it but 3 haven't so far.

I don't want to keep transferring to my credit card and going through the payment pages. Plus it is making me think I am richer than I am!! Will do this one tonight.
