Agree 100% never will be in the J.Selwood class but can be above the average type in time, dramatically over rated on this forum.[/quote
Hartlett could be just as good as J. Selwood, but not sure Boak can reach that level.

Mate i would gladly offer them chaps and our 1st pick for roughy...I would do it with a smile on my face and as quickly as possible before they realise ...
our board overestimates our players way too much...starting with boak....
I think we need to realise the difference between potential and actually being a star..
Hartlett @Grey are our 2 best prospects
Hartlett has 5 star potential at this stage, our first player to have that since Tredrea. JB and Chad were 4 star IMO.
The interesting one in the SANFL is Stewart. Sometimes players are just as good at AFL as in the SANFL other times they dominate at SANFL level but cannot reproduce the form in the AFL.
It's possible to dominate in the SANFL because of one attribute, be it fitness, body size or whatever. Stewart seems to do well in the SANFL because of the mix of his talents rather than just one or two traits and thus may be just as good at AFL level.
I'd love to see him tried out for 5 or 6 games in a row, preferably with a crumber near him as he does seem to provide contests.

I think all should be kept except for Kane Cornes. I absolutely hate Kane Cornes, by far the most over-rated player in the AFL. Sure, he racks up alot of posessions, but how much of that is contested ball? Surely a team like Melbourne should pick him up, hes an experienced player and they need another experienced midfielder now that McDonald has retired. Could be a trade for no.2 pick seeing as the Demons have 1st pick anyway?
keep roughhead the heck away, we have Nick Salter, that man is ferocious and will play in flags as our CHF
I understand your point....but roughhead has kicked 70 goals in a season with a man like buddy in the forward line....I dont think identifying a key need comes into it....Value is a funny thing. It's not absolute. In a true market sense, the worth of something is determined by the buyer, not the seller.
My point was more that we would be foolish to trade Chaplin, unless we can get someone of the calibre of Roughhead who would fill a current deficiency in our lineup. (although Salter is looking like a nice option)
It has nothing to do with overestimating Chaplin. It isn't even saying that Chaplin is equal to Roughead, (or vice verse for that matter). It's about identifying a key need and IMO, unless we get that need met, we are better off holding on to a player like Chaplin.
The only 'big' name player I can see us getting rid of is Ebert. Heard a rumour today (and also saw this on the draft and trading board, so it might have legs) that he is off to West Coast.
The individuals aren't bad - it's the team that's the problem. And trading ain't gonna fix that.
brogan2motlop said:Ebert for Staker I would be happy
Why? Staker is a poor man's Ebert.
brogan2motlop said:nope he can play the WCE just couldnt get the best out of him
brogan2motlop said:But in all seriousness we should be looking to get shannon Hurn...that guy is a gun...
brogan2motlop said:I would be willing to give them pick 8 and kraks for Hurn....he is worth it...
So would I. However I'm not sure if the Eagles would agree to that. IIRC Hurn was a pick 8 anyway, so basically they're trading the pick that they took Hurn with to start again with an unproven player, plus a lesser version of Hurn. Apparently Worsfold is chasing Shaun Burgoyne, maybe Shaun Burgoyne for Hurn? Burgoyne's obviously the better player right now, but he's rumoured to be a big part of the supposed player disunity and Shannon's 5 years younger, plus unlike Burgoyne he fills a glaring need for us. Plus it releases Salopek, Krakouer and Hartlett into the midfield, because Hurn's disposal is more than good enough to ensure we don't need another 'quarterback'.
I would be willing to give them pick 8 and kraks for Hurn....he is worth it...
and I think for all chocco's faults he is one of the better coaches for getting the best out of traded players....I just really think Staker is worth the risk...He has very good athletic ability and is a very good size and very mobile for his size....Would be suited to the role ebert played.
I guess in SA you lads dont get to analyse some of the WA boys, I WANT Suma to be our next coach...but you guys wouldnt know much about him.
They have pick 6?
We could find a deal like Ebert and Burgoyne plus pick 8 for Pick 6 and Hurn + Seaby Perhaps.
If we lost Burgoyne we would need to target another gun midfielder though, someone like Griffen who has struggled this year probably due his unfortunate family reasons. Perhaps a Pearce and a pick 2nd or 3rd round for Griffen perhaps?
So we would lose Ebert, Shaun and Pearce our first and 2nd round pick for Hurn, Seaby and Griffen and pick 6.
Hurn into the back lines allows krak to replace Pearce on the wing, Griffen in the guts for Shaun and Ebo to prove us wrong that he can play where we are covered for forward options.
