We are starting to get near the silly season and was just wondering if people could help me fill in the gaps regarding player contract status. It might help us work out who will be finishing with Sheedy and Hird in 5-9 weeks.

If I have got any wrong can people please update my information. When the information is updated will amend this page so people can see the status of them all before discussing where they will be next year and possible trades.

Thanks Longy and ant for the updates - - still 14 players who are out of contract at the seasons end so we may see some shake ups. That 14 includes hird, campo and rama with 2 probably retiring and the other just concentrating on playing footy after so long out of the game

With players generally only signing 2 year contracts with 3 years deals being the maximum, you will nearly always get at least 14 players out of contract every season.

Would be the same at every club.

Wouldn't expect too many shake ups.

Would still expect a surprise or 2 with renewal/trades. When looking at the players signed up we have a very good side from those already.

I agree - of those coming up to end of contracts, there are no massive concerns. Sure, players I want to keep, but no Stanton's, Winders, Watson etc whom I see as crucial to our moving forward....

I'm very happy with that list - the pressure is on the right people to perform and we haven't really signed anyone prematurely....it is up to the players to demand a spot on the list - that's very healthy.

FWIW I think someone like McVeigh would be a better captain choice. He is starting to be consistently good, and can lead by these onfield performances..

You can probably add richie cole to that list, whilst injuries have played their part a bit his attitude hasn't helped him get another contract. His name might be thrown up around trade time if still hasnt got a contract

I thnk you must be kidding yourself. He has been great this year. He has destroyed his opponents. He has played as a defensive forward, shutting down guys like Johncock, Gilbee etc. Puls he has been able to chip in for a few goals because his opponents havnt respected him enough.
