Why do BBL teams still keeping players like Tait, Rohner and Dussey.

Good performance once ed every series.

They seem past it, surely there isnt that much of a talent shortage

Tait for sure. He was cooked a couple of years ago.

Maybe now might have gone on a year too long now, but he was still pretty decent across the last 3-4 BBL seasons, and always has the obvious x-factor of extreme pace. You can see why he would be given a spot, based on his previous record, even up until last year:

Twenty20 Big Bash 2005/06 - 53.00 average, 36.00 strike rate, 8.83 economy rate
Twenty20 Big Bash 2006/07 - 3.50 average, 5.00 strike rate, 4.20 economy rate
Twenty20 Big Bash 2007/08 - 9.80 average, 9.60 strike rate, 6.12 economy rate
Twenty20 Big Bash 2008/09 - 10.00 average, 8.00 strike rate, 7.50 economy rate

(Played last FC match for South Australia in December 2008, retires from FC cricket in mid-2009)

Twenty20 Big Bash 2009/10 - 20.75 average, 14.25 strike rate, 8.73 economy rate
Twenty20 Big Bash 2010/11 - 58.00 average, 36.00 strike rate, 9.66 economy rate

(Played last ODI for Australia in March 2011)

BBL 2011/12 - 41.00 average, 24.00 strike rate, 10.25 economy rate
BBL 2012/13 - 14.44 average, 12.00 strike rate, 7.22 economy rate
BBL 2013/14 - 21.90 average, 14.72 strike rate, 8.92 economy rate
BBL 2014/15 - 16.50 average, 14.25 strike rate, 6.94 economy rate
BBL 2015/16 - 24.70 average, 18.60 strike rate, 7.96 economy rate
BBL 2016/17 - 30.50 average, 15.50 strike rate, 11.80 economy rate

Even this year he's still taking wickets at a decent rate, just going for way, way too many runs.

Can't believe it's been 8 years since he played his last First Class match, and nearly 6 years since he's played an ODI, though. He's probably had the longest run out of anyone being a limited overs/T20 specialist, hasn't he?

He has been worked out though and is therefore fairly useless.

So Pollard is never able to make adjustments or bounce back from here?

I think T20 by nature lends itself to hot and cold streaks, especially among the specialist types. There's not really too many who consistently perform at the same level game in, game out. All it will really take is 1-2 trademark innings a tournament to sustain his reputation and keep his run going.
