If this is true, it is very sad, but a story was broken on MMM today that this will be Nathans last game. They said that he just does not want to play AFL football, and he only played this week because Gary Snr called him and told him to play and then re-assess the situation this week.
If anyone heard this or knows anything please post it here.
NOTE: This is not a rumour, it was announced on MMM today.

I doubt there is too much truth in this ONLY because of the interview with Bomber on ch10 after the match. It was his enthusiasm and revelry with the Abletts' play in the first quarter. I think if he knew it was possibly Nath's last game, he would have been far more reserved and less enthused.

Surely this is not true. His intensity and chasing was the best part of his game today so i think he is really starting to enjoy his football.

Must say, had a tear in the eye when Nath kicked it to little gazza and he took a screamer! Bang! Goal!

Had a tear in the eye? I was up on my feet shouting and pumping my fists in the air! :p

I was in some kind of teary delirium.
If Nath doesn't play this week, I will know why, and then it will be all tears.

I heard he said he was planning on single handly winning the premiership for us this year by kicking 10 in the GF... VERY GOOD SOURCE! He told he mechanic, who told his horse trainer, who told me, who told MMM, who told everyone, who re-told it to me, who posted it here...AS GOSPEL

Someone remove this freaking thread!

HEY PAT I HIJACKED YOUR PC

didn't MMM also "break" the Ottens vs. King rumour? hutchy needs to spend less time listening to drunken bar idiots and put his finger on the pulse, as opposed to having it jammed fair up his clacker.

nathan also refused to play unless we rookie listed his mate apparently.

even if the story was true it would not get out to the media seeing as how quiet they are about him.

Saw this rumour posted last year when Nathan was going to be drafted. The question is, are any of our rookies from the Geelong area? If so, are they likely to be friends with Nathan? Answer these questions and the rumour could be put to rest.

If he doesn't want to play why would he even bother with readyin himself for the AFL level etc
IMO Cat fans have nothing to worry about

Buckland and Sheringham are from the Geelong area

Unwritten law already said that the rumour was false, but Buckland was already on the rookie list when Ablett joined, so it would've had to have been Sheringham.

Not really related to the rumour about his mate being rookie listed, but my VFL sources tell me that Nathan's enthusiasm for the game was reignited when he started to play with his cousin Josh O'Brien. Josh was one of the ring in's that we called during our time of need a couple of weeks back.

Wish people like 'Hutchie' would stop making up stuff to pump up their own tyres and leave the poor kid alone. He is not going anywhere...he wouldn't train his butt off to get to afl standard to chuck it in after 3 weeks.
