Beer was invented by the ancient Egyptians in 2500 BC.

They apparently tried to introduce it to the Greeks, but they wouldn't have it, they preferred wine.

The international date line runs in such a way that Kiribati is ahead of American Samoa by about 25/26 hours, despite American Samoa being further west. Samoa recently switched sides to the west side of the international date line.

The Greek national anthem has 158 verses.
The Aussie one initially had five instead of two.*

Might not technically be true. The song "Advance Australia Fair" did initially have five verses though. A lot of crapping on about Britain though, you can see why they were ditched.

By adding odd numbers progressively, the result is always square numbers.

To demonstrate:

1 (1st odd & 1st square no.) + 3 = 4 (2 squared) + 5 = 9 (3 squared) + 7 = 16 (4 squared) + 9 = 25 (5 squared) + 11 = 36 (6 squared) + 13 = 49 (7 squared) + 15 = 64 (8 squared) + 17 = 81 (9 squared) + 19 = 100 (10 squared) + 21 = 121 (11 squared) + 23 = 144 (12 squared) and so on ad infinitum.

I did quadratic equations in maths at school, but did not realize this until quite recently.

How cool is it?

Only made the discovery a couple of years ago and have loved square numbers more.
