West AdelaideIt's happening everywhere, Police too afraid to take aggressive action for fear of retribution from the social justice warriors plaguing society and lack of support from Governments in general. It's time for a far more "aggressive" action by law enforcement to those that blatantly defy the law especially where violence is involved.I've had a gutful of this over the last 18 months .....the community concerned isn't that big ....identify them & deport them .....if Martin Senior can't get back into the country over questionable behavior, surely this group qualifies
But if you’re a Port player you have no case to answer. It's concerning how out of touch many of the judiciary are with society. It's like they live in their own world.
Still would have thought there would be a minimum sentence for such as incident... but obviously not.
Ps. I'm pretty sure there are sentence loadings applied in SA for deliberately injuring any emergency services worker.
Lawrence Money is a retired highly respected crime reporter for the Herald Sun..We deal with a significantly greater non-representative crime rate up here, but fact remains identifying publicly is next to meaningless. Everyone knows what's going on, publicly identifying the racial component doesn't solve the underlying issue. I can't imagine how it would help at all. But if they're an organised gang and fit under that aspect of law, then they should be identified as such and treated accordingly. The commonality of their race is surely irrelevant.

I've got friends that live in the western and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne and I kid you not they won't venture out after dark any more it's got that bad, the fact is by far the majority of violent crime committed in Melbourne is by the South Sudanese youth gangs.Sure, but the point is, does it matter that they're all of African appearance? Surely what matters is that there's a gang of youths terrorising a suburb and the criminal justice system needs to do something about it. Would it be any different if it was a gang of 100 all from a different background?

It's the lengths the Vic Police under this Daniel Andrews ALP Government go to disguising it for what it really is that's pissing people right off, Ethnic gangs, Affiliated gangs the 2 latest they're running up the flagpole. FFS call it what it is South Sudanese gangs or African gangs. It's P.C. gone mad.I don't doubt it, it's no different to violent and property crime up here, almost entirely perpetrated by Indigenous Australians. But I still don't understand why it's important to identify that when it's something that everybody knows anyway. It's up to the police and justice system to keep society safe, regardless of the origins of the criminals. I just can't understand how identifying the primary race of the problem is going to be part of the resolution. If you have a gang problem, then you have a gang problem, the make up of the gang is irrelevant.

West AdelaideWOW .....that took like a year to recognise the problem publicly ....a problem the public recognized a year ago .......bloody Political Correctness, when it endangers the general population
West AdelaideI agree ......but it does !Terminological political correctness at the higher levels shouldn't impact what law enforcement is doing on the ground and the justice system in the courts.
I agree ......but it does !
Will be interesting to see what action i taken on the Lad kicking the Policeman in the head last week .........lots of public interest
Currently, penalties are not equitable across all segments of society .....why not?
West AdelaideThat's a bit complicated to give a simple answer .....what i would say is that Australian Law is the presiding laws we live under, laws that should not be modified for persons of any racial or religious pursuasionWayne's-World , I should add that the end result is questions as to what's wrong with the justice system because of the disproportionate representation of a certain type serving custodial sentences. There must be a problem with the police and judiciary, society must be failing these misunderstood darlings.
