Ponting at #4

It's good. Removes the tension of batting at 3 and allows him to be more natural as we saw this innings.

So obviously frustrated! Just needs to convert one of these innings and he'll be fine.

i don't mind where he bats so long as its not for much longer.

i can't see him reaching his past form or even approaching it. impatient and has lost the reflexes to simply impose himself as of old. tends to get out to rash shots trying to impose himself like the young punter pretty much every time i watch him. just keeping uzi from developing into an international star now. selfishly milking it

He needs to bat Like dravid, grind out a 200+ ball 100, esp eveb we are 2 for bugger all

Just keeps throwing it away. That was really Clarke-like that shot today. Lame as.

Shaun Marsh must be feeling kind of peculiar having walked into a team where he seems to be the only one who seems to understand about LEAVING the effing ball.

I'm happy that he's not at #3, although possibly not the best middle order setup.

I'd probably go with Marsh, Hussey, Clarke, Ponting.

And Katich for Hughes is a no-brainer of course.

Probably explains the sustained period of success the Warriors have had in recent years.

May explain why Marsh hasn't looked particularly perturbed by batsmen throwing their wickets away around him. He's right at home in a dysfunctional batting line-up.

Anybody think that Punter suggested that Marsh take his spot?

If he stays in the side, he needs to bat at 6 in my opinion.

And it's embarrassing that a new player (Marsh) has to come into the side to show some of the established batsmen (Watson, Clarke, Ponting in particular) how to put a value on his wicket.
