What a shame only 20,000 turned up today. I know Mother's Day is a hard day to get crowds, but such a small crowd is really embarrassing.

I expected higher - was I the only one who did?

Footyman..

The crowd was pathetic to say the least.
Melbourne supporters are so fickle..they only attend finals matches!

The fact that it was Mothers Day, St. Kilda playing so badly and the weather not looking too good, being live on Foxtel was probably contributory to the low crowd, but for Melb. supporters not to turn up when they are riding high........how bad is that?

Well, all I gotta say to St. Kilda and Melb. supporters if you want your teams to survive, get bums on seats!;) :D

Mothers Day keeps 10,000 people away. At Colonial, they got 34,000 and with Collingwood going so well, you would normally expect 45,000. Is there any point in playing Mothers Day?

It wasnt as bad as it looked on TV. Once it started raining a lot of people pushed up to the covered area which emptied out the bottom row of the Southern Stand pretty quickly. Also, the majority of people were on the invisible side of the ground (Melbourne members section).

Where were all the Saints supporters? I know it was there away game, but there couldntve been more than 5 thousand of them there.

that would explain it... they didn't show any of the seats up the top... just the goals on the southern stands.

aannyy ways, school just finished, so i'm going now :D

yeah it was a really low crowd, and it felt it too, it was always quiet. i agree with um i think it was BPP's point that there was hardly any support from st kilda, i have a few friends who'se families are st kilda members and will only go to their home games at colonial so i don't know if that has anything to do with it. but yeah the crowd was very poor.

The croud was mostly Melbourne, Mother's day was a factor, if anything Dee's supporters didn't show up because we expected to win!
To say Melbourne supporters only attend finals matches is utter crap.

Mothers Day always gets ****e crowds, wouldn't worry. We've got shockers the last two years (34,000 against the Roos and Dogs) and it has happened for years. People don't go to the footy on Mother's Day, soft if u ask me...

i thought the crowd was rediculas! when the rain hit in, i went to the covered area of the melbourne reserved seats and sat with steve armstrong and few of the otehr young guys, but i thought the crowd was fairly poor.. we could of done better. i saw all the people in the southren heading for a shaltered area.

Saints supporters didn't go cos they knew they would lose, and Melb supporters are just downright lazy.

I agree & 5,000 is being generous! We should've got more ourselves though. Another low drawing side North in round 9, we've had a tough draw.

I know someone like that: managed to stretch a five-year course over 8+ years. Only problem is, you wind up owing twice as much HECS!

So you get your butt into gear, CFH. That being said, of course, I've been pretty shocking this Semester myself!
