Port 4 up for grabs

That doesn't leave us much hope in offloading our discards!
We offload our discards where they belong. On the scrapheap and we use our picks to try again.

Lots of talk about Trengove, but for mine he's a pretty ordinary kick. Now if he had Batchelor's left foot, I'd say bring it on.

personally my trade tragets would be

talia - crows, I think we could get him cheaper than trengrove
Hampson or Hmac. pending how expensive.
a 17 year old from the giants.

the goal is to keep our compo pick. so we can select the best possible mid in the 2012, 2013 draft.

Im not sure if we should be trading our first round pick in a compromised draft. if we cant get a ruck we have to hope big X comes back well or find someone cheaper to fill the void til next year. he hasnt come along this year which is why we are now targeting a ruckman.

This buisness about trengove's kicking is getting way out of hand,Although he isnt a fantastic kick he really isnt a butcher either and looking at some of the players in our team atm he wouldnt be any worse than Connors,Edwards,Grigg,Mcguane and a few more

The part that alot of you people miss is when he backs into packs or runs into a pack and comes up with the marks 'GUTS & DETERMINATION'
Something we really lack at the tigers atm.

The kid is easily worth a 1st round pick & anybody who doesnt rate him really needs their heads read specially if your just judging him on when he played on Jonno Brown & Nick Riewoldt

A 20 yo Cbd playing on 2 champion CHF ............ What do you expect

Jackson Trengove will be AA CHB in time.

Who do u think would be a better get Trengove or Talia who has been mentioned a bit as well?

Butcher - good prospect for many clubs, but not for us I don't think, highly rated but yet to play a game. I'm happy with Riewoldt Griffiths and Vickery up forward

Wonderful hands, athletic, below average kick. Given we spent the first 18 months of his career nursing his back it'd be a fair kick in the spuds if he went home.

Moore - Moore I see as a realistic and exciting prospect, brother of Kel Moore which can only be good if we do want him. High draft pick again, really talked up for his skills and versatility. I think he could slot in nicely on a half forward or half back flank and let players like Deledio go into the middle more.

Has been really disappointing to date, poor kick and just generally looks out of sorts whenever he plays. Having said that, has probably been a victim of his own versatility what with alternating between HBF, HFF and his SANFL affiliate coach, Josh Francou, even trying him at FB for North Adelaide.

Trengove - obviously been linked with us for a bit now, but after much though I don't want him, been watching him closely after all the talk and just doesn't do it for me. Would cost too much and doesn't look that great, his kicking is a real issue and we don't need any more dud kicks in defence.

White line fever, perhaps too much. Super aggressive, loves a contest and has bounced back really well from the surgical error that almost cost him his career before it had even begun. Another that would hurt after the faith the club invested in him.

Carlile - I would love to see Carlile for the tiges, really good defender who normally does very well on big opponents. Could really provide some structure down back. Looks better and better with names like Carile, Rance, Grimes... Really promising.

Proof that Port Adelaide gets about 5 minutes of media coverage in a given season.

Carlile has been disgustingly shit this year. Absolutely abysmal. From one of the most promising players on our list to a disinterested, flabby, slow, timid slug.

Whether that's a combination of homesickness and his recently diagnosed hip injury is up for debate, but what is certain is that if he backed up this year's form again in 2012 he'd be lucky to get a game in the VFL.

Out of favour in a team that currently sits on the bottom of the ladder. What does that tell you?

Hurt his knee in a preseason training mishap which eroded his fitness base after reportedly flying on the track.

Had a decent game in Darwin on the weekend after a couple of months gaining fitness at Glenelg. Is contracted for a further 2 years and is still only 26. Can play.

Sounds like he needs a change of scenery ;) Players don't lose their ability overnight

nice to read at educated opinion on a port player for once

with that said are people bagging trengove because of his game on riewoldt and brown? I thought his game on brown was especially solid - he was thrown in the deep end and performed admirably

As a Port supporter, what deal would you think is acceptable for Trengove and co?

Don't think Richmond could get Moore or Butcher without giving up a first rounder or a player of equal quality

Carlile will also probably fit that category just because he is more developed and more a right here and now fit

Trengove i think port will want a fair bit for as he is a possible future captain (next captain will be Boak ,Chaplin or him) So your Compo pick plus a first 22 player

just my two cents

Think you could get a good deal on your behalf chasing Salopek, seems to be out of favor at PA under Matt

have you seen him play? has probably most passion behind Brogan, handles the media well and is a fan favourite

No doubt one of those port players will be leaving at the end of the year. I might be wrong, but to me port are a club with a substandard culture, and with the club being in Adelaide contributing to this culture. If you have a look at andrew moore when he was drafted, on the podium he genuinely looked unhappy at being drafted to port adelaide. Hell definetly be leaving at the end of this year, and geezus, his brother is kelvin moore i mean one phone call could get him to richmond. I definetley think he'd be worth looking at, and is a really mobile forward who is one for the future. In terms of the backline, i don't really rate trengrove, however i like carlisle but i think Talia would best suit us however i dont see him leaving, even though he is a melbourne boy and apparently homesick.

what was it?

I believe when he had surgery on a major hamstring injury, they accidentally nicked a nerve while they were in there. Basically if it turned out to be severed, he wouldn't have ever been able to play again, but thankfully it just turned out to be bruised.

Something like that anyway.

I would be more then happy to give Moore to Richmond, and I do mean "give". As a Port fan watching him this season, I would take a 2nd/3rd rounder for him. He is no good. If we lose him, I wouldn't lose any sleep whatsoever.

Trengove or Butcher on the other hand....

Trengove looks set to re-sign and from all reports Butcher also, hardly everyone wanting to leave Alberton.

Oh and your post is a piece of shit, don't comment on something you have no idea on.

Screw that. Not going to give up our compo pick and a best 22 player. you're asking too much. he is so overrated. even rance did a better job than trengrove on j.brown.
the most i would give fo trengrove is our first rounder for this year and connors.

Looks like some people on the board have some inside information that Trengove is about to re-sign 2 year deal .

So he will be coming to us in 2014 ............. thats ok we should be just about ready to take him then & he will only be 22.

Personally I would steer clear of any crap teams' players.
Good comment tugga but on the other hand how do some of our supporters expect other clubs to take our crap players....
