• Because they have been winning with these specialist players over the past few years they have only ever played them in these positions .forward or back. (i.e. Eddie, Jenkins etc etc)
• Therefore their players lack flexibility to play different positions when things aren't going well......

He's correct. Thus against Sydney in whatever final it was in Sydney a couple years ago Pyke didn't move his big forwards around the ground when his tall backs were nursing knocks and sitting on the sideline. Their tall forwards are not flexible enough to play other roles well enough.
