There's reasons though, we would have injuries and run into full strength teams etc. out of this lot Collingwood had a bunch of outs, hawthorns only just getting people back now etc. Its quite rare how many weeks they've had their whole team available.

I’m all in on GWS winning the flag.

On paper they tick all the boxes.

Hitting form at the right time this year, they haven’t yet peaked but are building nicely.

And the thing they have over the crows is experience in finals.

Yes they’ve failed in finals but definitely haven’t disgraced themselves like us. They had both grand finalists last year on toast but cocked up the last quarters. And we’re incredibly unlucky not to beat Collingwood in the 2023 prelim. 1 point to the eventual premiers at the mcg, they did a lot right. It will be in the memory bank.

As I understand the rule, you only need to be in the centre square for 6-6-6. Couldn’t believe Melbourne’s midfield, with so long to think about it, were standing around the centre circle rather than exactly where Nas is in your screenshot.

It’s actually amazing that Melbourne team won a flag.

The three midfielders should've been on the shoulders of their direct opponents, and the wingers should've been on the very corner of the square.

Pickett was lazy allowing NWM to run away from him, and Viney for some reason was standing in the middle of the square with his thumbs up his arse intead of right back on the defensive corner. Would've allowed Viney to move and fill the space that NWM ran into.

I don't know if its the rule but Max Gawn should've been made to stand the mark. Its supposed to be punishing a side for not getting into starting positions, it shouldn't allow the opposition ruckman to flood back to the edge of the square and block out leading space.
