That's a good point but they'll likely make top 4 this year and they're relatively young so it's kind of irrelevant how shit they've been in that period.
So future guesstimates hold more weight than past performances.

I don’t think it’s a certainty the crows are on the up and we are on the way down, you can’t make that call based on one year.

The crows are also no younger than port, and have had a charmed fixture and injury run this year. And still no guarantees of getting past the first week of finals.

We’ve had a disastrous year of injuries and a coaching transition that’s left us in no man’s land.

I’m still bullish about next year.

Maybe we will leave it to NWM to make his own judgement on the state of each clubs list.

Crows are like 6th or 7th oldest team? Literally older than port by almost a year on average. It's like average 23.6 port to Crows 24.5 or something. Ports one of the youngest so based on that and talent plus being able to compete most years apart from this one, shows better.

Look at how many close wins we had last year...
We are not that good lol
People thinking that we'll have some radical incline after Ken goes are delusional. We have some serious talent no doubt but it drops off to Carlton levels bad after that

Make it a bit more realistic please. Trolling this obviously isn’t so much fun.

What to do when criticisms mount about the way you’re running your main competition?

Why introduce another one of course.

This is what happens when when you’ve got a bloated top heavy administration looking to justify its own existence.

The FA Cup came before the league, that’s what gave it credence.

When there is already a knockout after the league its bloody pointless.

Use the time to have a home and away season!

I mean, our players do a lot of dumb things...
Poor hard done by Crows... meanwhile

And they actually disputed this? I would have given a 50 as well.

They probably become one of the youngest when the big Texan retires lol

Idiot. You constantly prove that you know nothing.
Provide a logical response and engage in debate then instead of just labelling everyone an idiot. Do you have a brain injury?
If you're holding onto hope because Ken's going next year and Carrs taking over and perhaps Marshall returning you're a fool lol.
There are so many holes in this list it's not funny and that's not getting into how average our fitness department is.
There's no doubt that with Carr and the right people around him (which currently we don't have )we are better off "long term" then under Ken but until there's culture changes from the top I don't see us going anywhere soon.

Really depends what you are comparing, yes on overall list age they are 6th, we were 12th .. but there is some debate on how meaninful that number is.
Another measure is average age of the best 23 each week.. tis shows the average age of the best 23 taking the field ... in effect, the age of the players you are relying in. According to that:

I certainly wouldnt want to be Collingwood long term. Neither this, or the overall list age really say much about the quality of your young players that arent getting a first 23 game.

They have better spread of young talent across their list though. Those numbers are meaningless. They're closer to a flag than us in the next 2-3 years thats my point. If Butters goes than that's a certainty

I have to see what Carr brings to the table before I'm going to truly assess the list. Hinkley doesn't really get everything out of the players. The gameplan is not the best as we know. We are quite lucky with good, young talent and with the possibility of a few more in the next three years. I think with Carr it will be the B graders that hoepfully get a leg up and elevate their play, Jase, Sinn, Lachie Jones, etc.

If Collingwood win their second flag in three years, I don’t think they’ll mind too much.

We’ve finished above them for the past seven years. This season they’ve had a dream run with injuries and a favourable fixture, while we’ve had the opposite. I’ll need to see a larger sample size before declaring they’re closer to a flag in the next 2–3 years. Just as easily, they could pull a Carlton and disappear into the abyss.

I have been saying that about Geelong for the last 10 years!
