The thing im nicked of at is the crows are a 10 goal better side than Port, wait until the local derby comes when they rip the heart out of the pafc for the last time under the worst coach that the pafc has had in its history.

Bevo was lucky in 2016 they were umpired to a flag. In my opinion he is not any better than guys who have been sacked like buckley and ,Cameron and he is only slightly better than ken. Bevo is overated

They're playing for each other and for a coach who knows what his limits are. As much as I hate them, I'll give them credit for a good turn around. They outplayed the same team who went dry into ours.

Easy as and they just played richmond last week and play them again in the final round. Disgraceful they were in a prelim last year should have got a harder draw

I could understand it a few months ago but they just keep proving everyone wrong.

They beat contenders (Brisbane), they beat teams everyone hypes up (Bulldogs), they beat teams they should be beating.

For an average midfield, they sure have no problem winning the midfield numbers and we know their forward line and backline is A grade.

Hoping I'm wrong here but they're basically our 2014 squad trying to prove everyone wrong but like three times better.

Bulldogs are flattrackers and they were very fortunate to fall over the line against Brisbane, who blew it with 0.8 in the last quarter.

They're consistently competitive I'll give them that (no-one has got a hold of them this year) but I'm unconvinced they'll be able to armwrestle a quality opponent in a final and come out in front.

The question still lingers over the ability to grind out tough/close wins when theyre in it up to their eyeballs (disregarding our faux Showdown comeback trick): GC Round 4, Geelong Round 5, Collingwood away Round 10, Hawthorn away Round 14

Some tricky games will determine whether they finished 2nd and become a legitimate threat, or back in the logjam of a pack. 2nd to 6th is very even.

GC, Port (yes it's 50/50), Hawthorn and Collingwood though all at home. Even Norf away won't be a pushover but you'd expect Adelaide to win. Brisbane also have some tricky away games but Geelong have a VERY soft draw and I'd back them to finish higher than Adelaide and possibly Brisbane.

As for being three times better than our 2014 squad... we beat contenders Freo (twice, including an away final), Hawthorn, and Geelong. We absolutely blew it by dropping games late in the year and that side should have gone all the way. 2013 would be a better comparison.


Tl;dr I think you're overrating them based on consistency of effort, which is a trait Port have lacked for a decade plus (We Will Never Give Up died at the MCG in September 2014). Great trait to have if they can maintain it though and I'm envious of it.

Only 5 point last time we played them in rd 9... and we would of won by a fair bit if we kicked straight in the last

Very similar to Ken actually, his sides are consistently inconsistent. Just that he cant guide them to Top 4 to save his life, but at least he makes grand finals: that's bought him time at an historically unsuccessful club.

To flat out say the WONT be winning it is honestly denial. They're every chance of at least making a GF with two home finals and if they get a Collingwood or a Brisbane who they've beaten on a bad day they could win it.
