Age and experience continues to dominate. Oldest team won 7 of 8 games and most experienced team won 6 of 8 games.

Home team only won 4 of 8 games. North might be the designated home team but in reality it was a lot more away than home.

Via AFL:
MELBOURNE has made an enormous pitch to keep superstar Kysaiah Pickett at the club, offering the premiership Demon a seven-year contract extension. AFL.com.au can reveal the offer would take Pickett through until the end of 2034 and would be one of footy's most lucrative contracts.

We can afford to get decent support in for Josh

Part of the tweet if you click more is the Chris Scott clause

Already 20% of the senior coach salary can be paid outside the soft cap. That's staying the same, but a senior coach is now entitled to a further $100k in marketing funds.

Hinkley would be fuming lol, losing out on an extra 50 to 100 k in marketing and extra 250 k on his coaching salary (no way he doesn't take a lot of the extra money and hires cheap assistants)

He should have just become some degenerate greyhound dude. It's his intellectual level. He would get along like a house on fire with the other guys in that community.

Why did we get the displeasure of him being a coach.

AFL Hall of Fame tonight.
Hopefully Tim Evans gets a long overdue gong tonight.
Maybe Fos or Jack gets Legend elevation?
Guessing Bosustow gets elected.

Talk that Walls becomes a Legend???
Very good but not outstanding playing career. Modest coaching record.
Can't see it.
He was Victorian

Great that Ken Farmer has been made a Legend despite my belief its an unnecessary category.

11 century seasons in a row is an outstanding effort. Think its a never before never again type feat.

What is a joke is that he wasn't an inaugural inductee of 100 players in 1996. He had to wait to get inducted in 1998. That was when the selection panel was dominated by Vic journos who had very little experience outside the VFL. The selection panel is now dominated by non Victorians.

The initial selection committee was made up of 11 Victorians, one South Australian and one Western Australian, with the current selection committee being made up of six Victorians, two Western Australians and one South Australian. Of the 136 inaugural inductees into the Hall of Fame, 116 played substantial parts of their careers in Victoria, with eleven of the thirteen "Legends" from Victoria [this was a 2011 article]

Now there are even less Victorians.

1996
South Australia: Max Basheer.
Victoria: Kevin Bartlett, John Kennedy, Lou Richards, Percy Beames, Peter Allen, Mark Patterson, Mike Sheehan, Harry Gordon, Caroline Wilson, Joan Kirner, Tom Reynolds.

Western Australia: Geoff Christian.

2021
South Australia: Graham Cornes, Bruce McAvaney, Michael O'Loughlin, Patrick Keane, Mark Genge.
Victoria: Karen Lyon, David Parkin, Paul Marsh.

Western Australia: Richard Goyder, Tania Armstrong, Ross Glendinning.

Watching Ch 9 and Tony Jones interviewing John Platten.
TJ says Ken Farmer may be a surprise elevation to Legend.

Would be a real surprise - because he's already a Legend, according to Google.

I always believed he was one of the earliest "Legends" along with Barrie Robran.
