This is the biggest problem with our game right now. Yet again another game has reached a 50+ free kick count total. The game is just way over umpired. That number should be 30 max for a full game. When you get to finals, the number drops big time. Why can’t they do that all season?Free kicks, Hawthorn 26, Camry Crows 24.
Easy to see why the Camry Crows supporters feel they've been robbed.

For the first time I can remember they are playing night games in Tassie this season.A combined 35,637 at the Thurs/Fri blockbusters this round - who says the AFL manipulate the fixture just to maximise revenue?
Why leave out Fogarty - he contributed a further 0.1 and literally lost them the game.
Regardless, why didn’t the umpire stop the clock? He just let the clock run down while the ball was not in Flog’s hands.Just rewatched the last play. There was definitely no 50 there. Right result.
better still rememberJust remembered that the Crows lost that game - lol.
Yeah but how tough did he look smashing the ball out of bounds rather than just fumbling it intelligently.

6.11 beating 5.14 drives home the point about building a roof.
If the AFL demand a new stadium they should be paying for it.As an another election has just been called in Tasmania, Albanese has again publicly backed the AFL's proposal for a roofed stadium at Macquarie Point in Hobart, saying it will transform a rubbish dump into a vibrant new precinct.
Seems like the AFL has lobbied Albanese to do this. What's the bet he will announce an increase in the amount of Federal Government money that's put into the stadium build as an election sweetener. Well played Dillon.
Given that both the Tasmanian Liberals and the ALP back the stadium, a bucketload of more Australian taxpayers money into the mix (reducing the amt required from the Tasmanian govt) will make it a certainty I think.

The "tap on" from Dawson to Rankine for the Camry Crows' last goal could also have been called a throw.
Federal Governments have helped fund new and upgraded stadiums and facilities for a wide variety of sports and their clubs across Australia, including ours. So in terms of principle, I see no reason why Tasmania doesn’t deserve to get a large chunk of Federal funding for its new social infrastructure project. If the AFL demand a new stadium they should be paying for it.
Tasmania can’t and the rest of Australia shouldn’t on principle alone.
I don’t have a problem with the federal government helping out states with projects like this.Federal Governments have helped fund new and upgraded stadiums and facilities for a wide variety of sports and their clubs across Australia, including ours. So in terms of principle, I see no reason why Tasmania doesn’t deserve to get a large chunk of Federal funding for its new social infrastructure project.
That was never in doubt.
The issue is how much and for what. And the AFL demanding a gold plated stadium with a roof before it lets a Tasmanian team in a national competition seems to me to require the AFL, a not for profit organisation with a very healthy bank balance, to dish up a lion’s share of the investment required.
You don’t need it, with the amount of people that turn up they should just let them park their cars around the ground. Can we have one at Manuka too? Bloody socialists here completely unwilling to turn us into a marginal territory, so we just get ignored by both sides...
BZT is a lot better player than he gets credit for, his absence has been sorely missed this year.Hogan 6 goals to 3 quarter time against Brisbane. BZT caned him last week.
Nimbies would never allow it. Manuka's biggest issue is that it is in the middle of our prime housing suburbs, it was hard enough to get the lights up. I think there was an upgrade proposal a few years ago which didnt get very far for that reason. You don’t need it, with the amount of people that turn up they should just let them park their cars around the ground.
The Matildas will always draw a reasonable crowd wherever.Nimbies would never allow it. We can get crowds here - until recently GWS' average crowd here was higher than it was at its home ground, despite them never playing any of the "big" teams here. The Matildas played at Bruce Stadium (also almost completely uncovered) midweek last week and managed a capacity crowd (25,125) on a cold Canberra evening.
