The Giants got mightily screwed in the AFL's Western Bulldogs Charity finals series.

And the players who stuck with them deserve a reward for loyalty.

Interesting situation this year, gold coast still have their catch up game against essendon to play. I'm assuming they will play it during the bye week before finals which means the afl finals week one fixture won't be locked in until after that, other finals teams will need to wait and see who they play and where They might be playing for top 4 as well.

I’m not so sure seems like a very even top 9.

Personally I have Brisbane, Geelong and Collingwood on a clear level above. Dogs, Crows and Hawks the next group. Giants, Suns, Freo making up the numbers.

I’m interested to see the dogs v crows game tomorrow, I think the dogs win and end up top 4, big dark horse for me.

I also think the giants have another level, they’ve been inconsistent this year but have hung in there, they’ve shown over the back end of 2023 and 2024 how dangerous they can be and I can see the same happening this year.

Brisbane the favourite for me though, just coasting right now and still winning, their best is better than anyone.

I really hope one of them goes on a run and puts up a genuine challenge. Giants have the experience on the field, but Gold Coast have a winning mentality in the coaches box - must be nice. Hard to see it being Freo.

Very tough to muster any interest if it's just Geelong and Collingwood competing having taken the golden route straight in yet again. At least Brisbane going back-to-back would make it something like 15/5 Vic to non-Vic wins over the last 20 years and the first consecutive non-Vic Premiers since 2005/6.

I was not a fan of how Hardwick got the job at the Suns as I thought Stewie Dew was knifed in the back but the move appears to have paid off. A lesson for Koch in how to be ruthless when a change is needed.
