This year then.

I assume you mean points scored overall for the season as the one time we played Norf in 2025 we outscored them 97 - 88.

For the season they scored 100 points more than us but they also conceded 499 points more than us. They had a percentage of 76.3% while we had a better percentage of 79.8%. Given we finished second in 2024 and they finished second last they, theoretically at least, had an easier fixture in 2025.

We finished the season in thirteenth and they finished in sixteenth so I'm not sure how you are implying that by scoring 100 points more than us for the season with a net of 399 points less they are somehow a better team.
He's made the call on this, so it's written in concrete for all time.

He said it. You'd better believe it.

I certainly believe it to be so 🤓😤

Well you have to make the Grand Final to win a flag, so I think that's too reductive. But I think the list of sides who could potentially win the flag if they had everything going right for them is much longer. I think if you can finish top 4 then you can win a flag. It's not talent holding you back. And we've finished top 4 in 4 of the last 6 seasons.

Nobody would have considered Richmond a chance at winning the flag going into the 2017 season, for example.

There really isn't much between a good list and a bad list provided you're not very young. It's about belief and executing when it matters.

Hear hear.

It’s been excruciating watching teams win premierships just about every year with the usual handful (at a minimum) of interchangeable spuds and squadbods doing their thing,

While our hopes, dreams and crushing disappointments are mocked and dismissed as ungrateful delusion, because we supposedly lacked the dozen more stars required for the supercoach to get closer than 12-14 goal defeats in home finals we were red hot favourites to win.

It’s even more bizarre when you consider Riley Bonner was arguably BOG in the worst of them — while Mitch Hannan (3.2), Josh Schache (1.3), Roarke Smith (1.1), Jason Johannisen (1.1), Anthony Scott (1.0) & Laitham Vandermeer (1.0) outscored our entire team (6. 9) by themselves 😂

Mentally weak coach
Mentality weak players
Coach has gone
Real change is not just about the coaching side it includes the players also.
Players are going slowly but surely,
8 from last year and I’d guess around 10 next year.

Fact is we went to water when everything was going our way.
That’s why the players got booed off the ground after the dogs final.

Only saving grace out of all this is our next assault on a flag will be with a decent coach and with players that don’t piss themselves when the going gets tough.
Every major final was always going to be the same.
Have we lost yet?

Hinkley would've struggled getting McRae's list in finals let alone winning a flag a couple of years ago.

Their tall forward line would have been wheeled out as an excuse why success was impossible and making finals was actually really good. They wouldn't have been able to get anything going against finals level defensive units.

Instead Brody Mihocek, Mason Cox and Billy Frampton are a premiership key forward line.

Amazing what you can achieve when you haven’t got mentally weak players lined up all over the ground.

Players you've made mentally weak with mollycoddling and defeatism

And guess what, you can’t change it.
What is happening is the only solution, moving them on like we are doing and will continue to do.
I’ll give Carr one thing, he’s smart enough to work out what we got is not good enough.
He’s going to roll this weak arse list over before your very eyes. 😁

The crows holding unofficial training sessions in the public eye, all with their shirts off in front of the cameras seems like a weird attempt at a flex but i'm sure their nuffy fans would froth on it.

I think i saw all the North Melbourne boys doing a sans shirt session in the public eye too, they must be set for a big year too lol.

At the end of the day, the AFL has guidelines in place that mean we can't officially start pre season yet, but yeah if the guys want to train together unofficially they can but they would all have their own training programs they can do on their breaks as well. I'd like to think the days of players coming back 10-15kg overweight are gone, i think most of them would be putting in the hard yards.

the crows unofficial session being broadcast was a bit of a wank to me.

They spend a lot of time training together before the season starts, i don't think there is any rush.

I see some amateur clubs have gone a bit silly with pre season starts times lately, some have already started, which is ridiculous in my opinion.
They ran out of legs last year. I'm sure starting training early will really help with that!!!!!

Most of the same players finished 17th just 2 years earlier, rising to the prelim in 2022 before winning the flag in 2023. Turnaround can happen pretty quickly

Between 1983 and 1987 Port won 1 finals match. We exited finals in straight sets in 1986 and 1987.

In 1988 John Cahill came back to Port, we finished minor premiers and won both our finals to win the premiership. And that was against a Glenelg side that was winning finals experienced having played in the previous 3 grand finals, winning 2.

You can't write off a whole list of players because they've been poorly prepared on how to play and win finals. Players will be weeded out, but others will respond to the challenge.

Just because Collingwood did that it doesn’t mean Jack.
Every club in the competition can say the same thing but it only happens once in a blue moon.
Without getting the Daicos brothers it would have never happened, plus a leg up from the umpires at crucial times.

Mentality is a muscle. It can be developed through training and preparation. Id much rather see our players become mentally strong again.

What an absolute farce OR is. Now over 50% of clubs getting an extra bye in the first half the year and already moved away from the apparent purpose of the round by having a Vic game.
Are they really having a Vic game?

What the actual **** 😂😂😂

They are the softest Aussies imaginable.
