Our biggest problem in terms of keeping up momentum and playing four quarters is that for every decent player we have, we have two momentum killers.

Whether it be an inexplicable clanger (Brett Ebert, Thomas in the first quarter), an uncontested fumble (Logan, McCarthy, Pfeiffer), a stupid blind handball in the back pocket (Cassisi), a dropped mark (Pfeiffer, Lobbe, Schulz) a soft tackle (Rodan) or undisciplined act (Trengove and Cassisi both countless times), it's enough to halt our run and gift the opposition goals.

A new coach will need to weed out those players who are reliable only in their ability to hand back the momentum to the opposition.

I think if you were to go back and analyze each of our 4-5 goal losses this year, you'd find these sort of momentum killing acts as a primary reason for them.

Boydman, I agree........our captain sucks. Anything to prevent him from playing is a blessing IMO. Cruel? Maybe. But the guy is the most irritatingly incompetent captain I have ever seen take to a professional sporting arena. He is an absolute liability of the highest order and has been for two years now.
