Geez Lillard is great to watch, becoming one of my favourite players outside of the Bulls.

Just as well when Matthews, Batum and Blake go for a ####en disgusting 5/24. No where near good enough against a Kobeless Lakers.

Warriors helping out giving the Thunder a beat down for us in some way making up for our loss to the Hawks.

Hard to believe he went to Weber State. Also he was only a 2 star prospect coming out of high school. I'm sure he'll have a cracking documentary made about him some day!

Yeah, pretty unreal.

He actually has a pre draft documentary out atm -

I've followed the nba since 92 and always changed teams because I preferred following players rather than teams. Always liked Seattle though and gravitated towards okc who I don't like anymore because they're cheap.

Realised a shitload of my favourite players have been blazers and can't get enough of dame in the clutch. He is agent zero with a brain. My favourite. I'm on the rip city wagon for good (plus their colours matchmy avatar).

Thunderwon't catch us. Portland wont have worse than third seed if they play even 50/50 ball from here. They are working thus season like veterans. That's cause dame is a veteran college guy like Duncan. He has his head screwed n and understands efficiency.

Olshey has had his contract extended 3 years, and added the title of 'President of Basketball Operations' ()
Not that a contract extension to a front office guys means diddly squat in the NBA, especially with a guy like Paul Allen as owner, but it sure is nice.

Good to see Olshey rewarded with a new contract.

What are everyones thoughts about looking for a trade at the deadline.

I think if we can manage to get a Wilson Chandler, AA or Jeff Green they would suit as a 6th man off the bench.

Come the playoffs an 8 man rotation looking something like this would be ideal. With spot minutes to guys like Freeland and Crabbe/CJ
Dame/ Blake
Wes/ new wing
Batum/ new wing
LMA/Kaman
ROLO/Kaman

Is it worth trading a first, Wright and maybe CJ for wing depth, or do we stand pat for the rest of the season?

I think we stand pat.
We will throw our hats out there if Green/Chandler are available, but I'm not sure we will have the best package to get them.
I don't really know what Olshey has planned for this offseason, but I think he'd rather not have an extra 9mil on the books with Green.
Wright, T-Rob + pick works salary wise for those guys

Got out of jail against the Heat.

So I quit internet for ages (lies. Just got lazy to sign into BigFooty). I know I made my standing predictions prior to Durants first stint on the bench in a suit and even before Georges horrific injury), but I am glad I was modest. People scoffed at my prediction of a 4th seed. Yes anything can happen, but things are looking as they did last year. I just hope Portland can improve their record from post-New Years on their 2013-14 campaign. Oh and going 9-2 without Lopez is also a very good step in the right direction

I wouldn't say we got out of jail. We didn't play in OT and the game didn't require a lillard time game winner.

Yeah the first half was pretty Damm average but we blew them away in the third and coasted home. Starters didn't play like the last 4 minutes of the game.

We start to run into some better teams soon, will need to start playing better basketball when we do

I'd say we were the better team in the first half, Miami weren't doing anything to make us miss, we just missed. Then the third q we blew them away. i was watching the second half on delay so I didn't bother with the 4th knowing the resuly, but yeah I wouldn't say we got out of jail

ALSO

Saw a Zach Lowe tweet saying the next West contender to make a deal could be Portland. Said Denver are just waiting on Portland to include a 1st round pick in deal for Chandler. DO IT. (Although I would be hesitant to include a first AND CJ, which may be the hold up)

I would love to acquire Wilson chandler

I would also be VERY excited if we could land Chandler, he just gives us even more flexibility defensively and has a nice mix of shooting and slashing to the rim. What's his contract status? If it's only a 6 month rental then I'd hesitate to pull the trigger on CJ and a first, but if we'd him for another year after this then I'd be more than happy. Hopefully our first round pick is in the late 20s which realistically means another guy to join the end of the bench and CJ hasn't shown much other than being a decent spot up shooting option. With Chandler I could see our playoff rotation looking something like:

Lillard (38)/Blake (10)
Wes(34)/Batum(10)/Chandler(4)
Batum(26)/Chandler(22)
LMA(38)/Kaman(6)/Chandler(4)
Lopez(32)/Kaman(16)

Chandler allows us to run both some crazy long and small ball roations. He also gives us another option other than Batum to put on the oppositions pg when we don't want Lillard guarding them.

Unfortunately, the Blazers just don't have the minutes to give to developing young guys. Having said that, Meyers has put a few nice games together and if he continues to improve then perhaps we don't bring Kaman back next year seeing as his output has fallen dramatically the past month after his great start.

I think we stand pat

May do but if something present to make us better this year then pull the trigger I say. Consider this as far as next year is concerned:

Aldridge - not signed
Matthews - not signed
Lopez - not signed
Freeland - not signed
Kaman - team option
Blake - player option

Year after that Batum becomes a FA and the year after that Lilard will cost around 15 million more (and fair enough too). Portland may look quite different this time next year.

Yeah this a massive concern

He is really struggling at the moment. But he still does a lot of good things defensively. We need another wing for games when batum is struggling

I know he is good defensively but you ain't worth 13 mill if you are just a good perimeter defender.
