In todays herald sun the article on the tigers, was interesting to read that Walace recruited Polak to play back but he has been very impressed with Polaks one grab marks at Training and is yet to decide were to play him.

Heres some options:FB Gasper/Thursfield
CHB Polak
CHF Richo
FF Shultz/Hughes
or
FB Gasper/Thursfield
CHB Shultz
CHF Polak
FF Richo/Hughes
or
FB Gasper/Thursfield
CHB Polak
CHF Patison/Shultz
FF Richo

All options have three tall forwards and backs, the backs also have J.Bowden and P.Bowden as the utility. With an abundance of pacy midfielders around these big men.

Schulz and Polak swapping between CHF and CHB depending on the opponent.

Why would we recruit a key-position backman, a player we need vitally...only to play him up forward?

Play him down back. If he can't handle that, his best position is at Coburg.

I don't know if you know this, but Polak played mainly in the forward line before Freo swiped him up.

Then they turned a 17yr. old into a backman pretty Quick...His best year was when he was 19yr old (2003) at AFL level.

I don't know what went wrong..???? I think the timing of his injuries weren't the greatest....and it seems it takes him a few games to get his TOUCH back. His Social life(as any kid that age) may have been a distraction.. .

With FREO and pressure keeping spots, when you(any player on the outer) didn't perform at the first chance, you were shuffled back... Damn Shame....

Also in the Backline I think he would be better suited at FB NOT CHB...His disposal isn;t the greatest and he is bulking up a bit and should match it with the big boys.(unless they are fast leading FF) CHB requires a more experienced General to lead the troops....

He should do well for you guys and gals if he is Supported and Developed.... Wallet seems like thats what he'll do...

Maybe you can alternate Polak and Kingsley .. .......ps...just joking lol

Ps Skybeau , how are the horse ratings going? $$ ??

Yous have some very handy players and some very average players but all in all i like your team. Yous have needed a backline for some time and now that you have a good backman he needs to be played at FB or CHB if yous are going to have any chance of getting outta 9th

Average players compared to your list make them superstars ;)

fair call.
what do yous reckon ?;)

Wallace will put Polak in the BL to start and if he gets the confidence up and starts taking those wonderful safe grabs he did as a 19 yo he will tried down the FL to kick tiger goals.

Confidence is all the kid needs. Should go well for ya's:thumbsu:

Wouldn't be surprised if he plays him in the backline but not as our main CHB to start with. If he was to get pantsed by a Brown, Tredrea etc he might drop his head a little.

Maybe a swap for the Andy Kellaway position first, then move to the traditional CHB in early rounds. A gut-busting preseason is essential

very few genuine kpp of quality in that lot. especially kpd.schulz and mcguane are forwards with huge question marks about them. and simmonds has already shown he struggles big time when asked to play as a kpp hes a ruckman nothing more.
all that leaves is gaspar only kept on the list because we dont have a replacement fb. hall average at best chb and only kept because we have so few kpd. polak who has done sweet stuff all in 5yrs and 70 odd games and thursfield coming of a serious knee injury.god help us when the injury gods hit our talls again.
