We've probably all had the chance to vent our frustrations at the results of the past couple of weeks. So I thought it was about time that we looked ahead with a more positive frame of mind and highlighted what we've got to look forward to.

Personally, I've seen some very encouraging signs from players such as David Johnson, Hunt, Tenace, Byrnes and Playfair. This is very important for our team as we rely on even efforts across the board and to have solid performances from our 16-22 players is a key to our success.

We smashed a side we should have smashed and weren't smashed by two very good sides on their home grounds. Although West Coast and Melbourne won fairly comfortably, Geelong didn't play anywhere near their best and kicked atrociously for goal. There is great room for improvement in the kicking department but also in the return of Mooney, Steve Johnson and Sanderson to the side.

Probably our 4 best players when we are going well (King, Ling, Scarlett and Ablett) have all played below par to date. We can expect (and hope) that they will get better with match fitness and provide a great boost down the track.

So there you go, not all doom and gloom. It's only round 4 and we haven't even played a home game yet!

i agree!
if we beat essendon they will get a little confidence back and things will start turning around again. Let's not forget we are in a better position then we were this time last year and we have got 2 tough games out of the way so to speak.

This is our best start to a season in 3 years. 2002 was the last time we won 1 of our first 3 matches, haven't won 2 of 3 since 2001. It's not all that bad, in 97 when we finished up near the top, we were 1 from 3 as well. C'mon guys, we're off to a ripper start let's build on this momentum :D

Should be called the excuses thread shouldnt it?

No not at all. I actually don't think we need any excuses. We weren't expected to win either game and we didn't. In my view, we're exactly where I expected we'd be after 3 rounds.

I was just a bit over the complaining, the negativity and yes, the excuses so thought I'd mix it up.

A bit of humour, that's an improvement on most of the posts lately!

;)

playfair took some great marks in the 2nd quarter, Hunt and Chappers of course easily the best last week!

Looking ahead, i think Scarlett will get back to bussiness on Lloyd which is always a good match up! SJ hopefully in the side will give some xtra spark aswell..

Good on ya for starting this thread mate
