Autopsy Positives and Negatives vs Richmond

This year isnt about winning now its about finding out what players can do and learning a game plan.
I’m not confident in Simpson to be able to design a new game plan that works though. Seems like he is very much a one trick pony and that has been completely figured out, and the players know it. They’ve all now gone awol.

+ Surely this ends talk of a priority pick for North.

+ can happily cancel Kayo membership for this year and save some money.

+ ditto saving money not going to games.

+ ditto saving time not watching any more games on telly. Might take up a hobby. Perhaps stabbing myself in the eyes with needles.

The season remaoning is als a test for coaches and other staff areas. My view is that the rot starts at the top, and Simmo may in some part (how big a part we will see) the meat in the sandwich of very poor club management and leadership.

I measure club management and leadership against onfield performance as the prime aim. Not revenue form easy targets and minor urban developments.

The gameplan isnt solely on him though. It will be a joint effort with feedback from the assistant coaches. We have already seen this year that they are are trying to play the corridor which is a change.

There's a blank spot for me in the eagles history.

I was there at the home games in the first year as a 14 yo. Dad dragged me along, I didn't know what footy was.

Collected AFL sticker books and the cards, have a few players signatures from training, Irving and a few others. Still have those books.

Was a member from 90 to 93, Subiaco and WACA. took my brother along every game. Thank you Austudy for the money. But had to give it away, impacted on my Uni.

I'm rambling along.

I don't know jow bad the Judge years were. I switched off for, I guess, 2 years. I just didn't watch them.

So yeah, there's a blackspot for me.

This feels infinitely worse.

I’ve had a night to calm down somewhat.

Huge positive was this great man.

What a star. My all-time favourite player. Will miss him when he retires and he’ll go down as club legend.

Congrats on 700 goals and an amazing career you bearded God.

Positives:
Last year a droplet of rain would be enough to ruin the tenacity of our players competing in a game, this year it’ll be its saviour in reducing the beltings. I hope this winter is wet as ****.

Jk700/Clark

Negatives:
Almost everything I hear about game plan changes from the clubs involves taking on the corridor being more aggressive, what about the defensive side of the game? There’s absolutely no consideration of throwing away this dumb press that gives the players freedom to be completely unaccountable to a player. Throw in playing Clark instead of Gaff on a wing and you really have to question if/what the club is thinking.

Im not one to over exaggerate but weve hit rock bottom.
Ive seen our worse under both Woosha and Ken Judge. This points wise is something else and with no end in sight.
I don't believe we are at rock bottom.

Only once the club truly accepts where we are at, can we start.

So another four 100 point losses it is then.
Wonder in Simmo survives.

Very end of Woosha fell to these losses. Absolutely no heart or effort.

Check out the running stats in the AFL tracker.

Very grim reading.

Out sprinted 3:2.

Repeat sprints 3:1

Ran faster than us in defence and attack.

Almost 10% more kms at high speed.

There have to be basic fitness metrics at the club that the players meet. This is a desire to work issue.

I know people have said it on here many times, but I just couldn’t get over how bad we are at tackling. We let Richmond players get through two of our guys in a row, and we just look like we have wet lettuce leaves for arms coz we were so weak. The only guys that stuck tackles properly were West & Clark.

Ironic how Simmo kept banging on about how the seniors needed to play in the first team to get more synergy, yet, with each passing week, we are looking more and more disjointed and spiritless.

Atleast now he is admitting there is a transition happening but I'm not sure if he would commit to a full rebuild.
He avoids the word 'rebuild' and prefers transition, sounds less drastic?

Haven't spent the last few years being taught to corral instead

It seems to me that when players come into our side from either the wafl clubs, or another AFL side, they have better skills and abilities then after they’ve been training with us for six weeks. Naish had games previously where he was hitting everything by foot, now he can’t hit a target to save himself after training with us for six weeks. What the **** are we doing at training?

Next step is to drop the players who aren't playing the new game plan. If that is Hurn and Shuey, so be it.

At the start our 2nd halves recently we've been attacking through the corridor, if that is the new plan, then there are quite a number of players who aren't on board with it.

Simpson mentioned needing our leaders, but those leaders need to bring the players with them rather than revert to old habits in the hope of limiting a potential 130 point loss to 108.

Shits me to no end.

It fools no one.

Just be real. Tell it for what it is.

All this claptrap does is alienate and anger the fan base.
And it still manages to be better than “we have to be better”.

Perhaps the emptiest and most obvious statement he could ever make.

I have no idea but it's very concerning. Waiting for Clark to turn to shit in a couple of weeks
