Positives:
- Probably our best game for the season, played really good attacking footy for most of the game, unfortunatly fitness and a few skill errors cost us
- Edwards, played his second best game for the club after playing a few ordinary ones
- Tuck, had a few turnovers but was hard at the footy and one of our best
- Pettifer, despite the critism he gets on this board who can deny his game today. Spent his match closer to the goal square, kicked 3 and set up a couple and did some really good things, includeing some tackles and 1%'s, very un-pettifer like. Hopefully he keeps this in his game
- Tambling, didn't he look good today, arguably his best game for the club. Ran and carried, took them on, kicked 3 beuties (all from outside 50?) and was probably our best youngster. He is also a fantastic overhead mark, great hands
- Raines, took them on today and didn't get caught, gave a few iffy handballs of but showed alot of imporvement. Did a good job on Tarrant aswell
- NEWMANS 80m GOAL!!!! You bweddy!!!
- King, keeps getting better, had a great first half. Although he did have a few costly turnovers that resulted in Freo goals. Also when missing in the final quater when he needed to step up more

Negatives:
- Polo, maybe he is underdone, but was comprehensivly beaten by Heland today (why did it take 4 or 5 goals before Wallace changed the match up)
- Thurstfield, I'm not sure who he had today but it wasn't Pavlich, Headland, Mundy or Tarrent who were there best 4 fowards. Needed to step up and at least take a Mundy IMO. McGuane should come in for him against Melbourne, to give him more run at Coburg
- Couldn't catch a break, every single mistake we made Freo capatilised on
- Misses in the 2nd quater. Just like against the Pies, Bombers, Blues and Lions we missed chances to be 6 or 7 goals up at half time. Easy misses aswell to Foley, Kingsley, etc.
- Huges didn't see alot of it, but I don't think he either got alot of game time or was playing at CHF. Hopefully he isn't dropped

All in all, I'm pretty proud of the way they played

Polak - 1st Half Brilliant
Foley - Again
Pettifer - Busy
Tuck - Solid
Tambling - There A Bouts

positives: continual contributions by youngsters like howat, white, king and jacko. thursty was tight again and held his opponent to not many goals.
negatives: turnovers and fatigue.

ummm polak plays for us now;)

I don't understand the continued selection of Thursfield. He just doesn't provide anything of a tangible nature, but is being hailed as someone we can rely on for the future. He played 3 good quarters on Riewoldt last year, seems to me he has held his spot for at least two weeks too long.

I have no idea. Didn't even know he was playing for most of the game (no long sleeves;)). But the point I was trying to make was that because he didn't play on one of their key fowards he was pretty useless.

Actually I think he might of played on the first gamer Ibbotson or whatever. We need more then that from Thursty

he does the job and is a tight back, something that polak isnt. they got enough players streaming forward and need someone back when they turnover. i dont think he has done that much wrong. mcguanne look a tad too slow in his disposal for my liking.

Negatives
Terry Wallace's coaching- not taking Polo off Headland sooner!
Way too many turnovers!
Ruck situation (no fault of Pattisons trys hard) just missing that Kruezer!
Goal Kicking, but I guess nearly every club has this problem. Ridiculous-AFL players and their goal kicking.

To be fair to Thurstfield there was no real Freo play that matched him other then Mundy. Still of all our players today he easily had the least impact

Wow. I'm glad you can see that. Sure, he hasn't done too much wrong, but the guy isn't yet at AFL standard and does little to deserve a game.

who was on tarrant?

Andrew Raines, genius coaching hey?

But in all honesty he was pretty good, Tarrent got free a few times but remmember he is alot bigger then Raines. Raines had a couple of good contest, spoils, tackles, wrestles and only gave away the one free and got one himself. Raines also rebounded well with 25 touches. A very good game

Hey guys, sorry to invade but i thought it was an encouraging performance by your lot, should take some solace by it.

Was bad luck that your guys couldn't finish it off, but i think that being reduced to just the 1 spot on your bench from injuries during the 3rd may have been a factor though.

And WHAT A GOAL!! :D:D

Thursfield will be better for this season, but people have tended to overrate him for 3/4 of a game played on Reiwoldt - who is perfectly capable of being a high profile but in terms of effectiveness, anonymous player 12 games a season.

While he keeps his pace and continues to grow in his defensive ability, he's an eventual upgrade on a post-knee Gaspar, but he's a fair way away from creating opportunities to attack through hard running off their opponent like Hall or Kellaway were (and his disposal is fairly similar).

Thursfield needs time and patience - he'll be ok.

thursty also held lloyd a few weeks ago. it is difficult to defend marks on a lead and lloyd is powerful, even glass had problems in one on one.

He was a class above at times today, his hands in the marking contest for a small guy and closing speed was a pleasure to watch live. Think he enjoyed the open spaces of Subi to work in as well.
