No offence Bazz, that's a crap tweet - there's a massive 3 days difference between us and Brisbane and 1 for Melbourne.
We could inflate our age by drafting mature aged players frm the VFL.
Games played is what matters to me.

Yeah but look at the top group.

If we play to our abilities and follow the team instructions and stick to our structures on the ground and each player performs his role, and Cloke has a blinder and our backline stops being sh1t and Bucks finds a better game plan and... then we will win more games than we lose.
Ha ha. I couldn't resist the edit...Sorry! :p

P.S. Oops! Positives thread: We'll smash that rabble!

Scott (Geelong coach) on SEN made a few interesting comments just now on Pies. He says as a coach he can see exactly what the Pies are doing in terms of recruiting etc, and that people should 'cool their Jets' because as Geelong coach, they are concerned about them. He points out how it takes time for teams to gel and even longer when you bring in new young players from other clubs such as Treloar and Aish. Having the kids play together for an extended period is extremely important and he used the Eagles as an example whereby even their younger players have played 60 games TOGETHER.

Anyway, nice to know he fears Collingwood and their list going forward with more games playing together.

I feel positive again. No basis in fact or reality, it just happens. We are always a chance to win a game, and always a chance to lose. I know the odds are based on more than a whim or a fancy, but I always hope we win. I'll be there on Sunday, anxious as usual, but ever hopeful.

He also said that it makes it harder when you lose players like Swan, Varcoe and Sidebottom putting pressure on the less experienced.
Made a lot of sense to me.

Think it happens about this time every week. Start of a new Weekend and hope things can change

St Kilda and Melbourne are much better teams this year than most people thought coming into the season.

Oxley is a player for us!!... and to the haters he's young inexperienced and has time to develop more. Grundy got some form back, Trelaor is already our best player (not sure that's a positive actually).

Albeit minute, there were definitely positives that came out of yesterdays game. The fact that we started the game strongly and after our massive fade midway through the 1st quarter until midway through the second, we were then able to match Melbourne to an extent for the remainder of the game says that there was some small progress. It's microscopic I would agree but hopefully it's something to build on.

Speaking of positives, and I know just how bizarre this may sound but I actually think that if Clokey can't get up for next week it may well be a blessing in disguise. From what I've seen of him, his belief and energy is at an all time low. He needs to have a stint in the magoos to rebuild his confidence. It seems to me that this is affecting the entire side because he is now failing to do the one thing he has always done well and that is to mark the ball. To me it's no coincidence that Clokey was absolutely flying when the media and everyone about the place was raving about his beastlike contested marking. Ever since the focus has turned to his kicking, something he has never been great at, he has got worse and worse in all areas. We need a confident Clokey back regardless of his kicking because it has always been sheer weight of numbers that has made him an essential part of our forward line.
