Faulks was ok without being great he was beaten on the lead on a number of occasions but that probably comes with picking up the pace of afl level but he wasnt by any means terrible so I think it will be a positive for him to play out the season.

Silvani was definitely the only shining light he is the only one who looks disappointed when he loses a contest and fights all day. The rest of the team could learn a bit off him for next seaon.

Thats about it tho finals hopes (if there were any) are over and the last three games should be used to find some positives for next year.

Can't really think of any. I thought we looked tired and depressed all day. And that was just the supporters.

Sigh. Was just over the season a month ago. What was heralded as our new culture, it seems as it is just same old same old.

1. No injuries
2. Colombo was good in his first game
3. Mzungu was good defensively again, and was also consistently willing to attack the packs and drive forward hard.
4. Silver was good down back again.
AND most of all
5. Clarke had another great game - if we can keep him, Griffo and Sandi fit and on the list we will be scary deep at ruck. Zac's also getting better when run down forward and through the middle.

No other positives, really sad that in my time back in Perth of the three games I've seen (GC, Hawkers, Carltank) we've shown such little spirit in two of the three. Hang on, maybe that's a positive for the rest of you, with me going back East maybe the BpG jinx will be lifted and you'll get to see some commitment at the next Subi game?

Were you the guy sitting next to me that was over from Canberra? If so; sorry if I gave you the shits! I was in a bad place.

Positives for your season

You know you'll have a quality centre 4 next year in Sandi, Barlow, Mundy and Fyfe.

Silvagni has shown that Grover's aging won't be costly.

Zac Clarke has shown he can provide a genuine ruck chop out to Sandi and can make meaningful contribution around the ground.

Clarke's chase on Yarran - causing him to forget to bounce it he was so under the pump, resulting in a free kick to us. Crazy good.

Very well said, a lot of people wouldn't realise how good that was. Chris Yaran has electrifying speed and backs himself in to outrun anyone in the AFL. But when he turned his head and realised Clarke was right on his tail he panicked and instead of bouncing like he should his focus was solely on not getting chased down.

Only thing I am wondering is how much of Zac's speed will be lost when he adds the extra 10Kg's to his frame.

Richmond beating Sydney - they now have a harder draw and likely onto to win 1 more game. they are only 2 points in front of us so we need 2 wins - North and bulldogs to make the 8 - then redemption against Carlton in the 1st week of the finals would be nice

From predicted injury lists we should only have 5 left on - all out for the season - after this week - this will be the best its looked all year, bar those playing in WAFL this weekend.

Only DeBoer, Mora (maybe Hayden) would be automatic selections in our best 22!!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

One of the most pleasing for me is the fact that if Zac Clarke keeps improving like he is..he will be a better ruckman than Notacluee by the start of next season.
Just gonna keep the poachers away..

How the hell cold you think that Faulks was ordinary? He beat his opponent and showed nerves of steel.

I like Faulks as a prospect and his debut was decent, definitely something to build on but how did he beat Walker?

Walks had 24 disposals, 7 marks and had 5 scoring shots (1.4).

Anyway, I really like Clarke. He's athletic and hasn't a decent skill set for a big bloke. I played a bit of basketball against him as a junior so he's obviously got better ball harking skills than some other players his height.

Silvagni was great, he reads the play so well and I'm still pretty disappointed we didn't give him a shot considering the family connection!

Mzungu again showed his dash and work rate. You've got a player there, he just needs a big preseason and another year to refine his skills.

What's going on with Stephen Hill? I know he's getting tagged and we put Armfield on him who did a good job but he's just got to work harder than that. He is just so damaging when he gets the pill, maybe a move to HB may be his go while he is getting tagged. Apologies if that move has already been trialled.

Love him as a player but he needs to get stronger.

Barlow is a machine, seriously how good is he? Coming off a very serious injury and only 5 games in, he is right back where he started.

Good to see Sandi get through the game.

Oh and I also loved Ballantyne's (sp?) game, even if he annoys the shit out of me. :D

Love his pace and finishing ability. It's good to see him getting more of the ball through the middle and burning off opponents. Very good player.

Sorry for intruding, all the best for the rest of the year.

Clarke's chase on Yarran - causing him to forget to bounce it he was so under the pump, resulting in a free kick to us. Crazy good.

Taped it and only saw the first half, so haven't seen that one yet.

But saw another tackle he made out on the wing on (I think) Henderson. Zac chased hard out of the middle and all the way out to the wing. Henderson thought he'd have enough time to get rid of it, probably assuming that Zac was running at top speed. Then about three or four steps away Zac slams on the turbo and closes the gap... fast. Belts him in the tackle and gets the holding the ball decision.

Awesome. Rewound and rewatched three or four times. Kid can run.

Richmond did us a favour
Essendon still have their second bye

From our game specifically:

Faulks - great debut
Mzungu - keeps on inproving (I thought he did his knee again in the last - but he came back on alright), also he loves the hard-stuff :)
Silvagni - wow. he is such a traditional backman and is all over his opponents, but he does it within the rules
No injuries
Sandi did good his first game back from toe boo-boos
Clarke - 'nuff said

once again the small forwards killed us - they were the difference again (Milne and Schneider last week and Eddie ****ing my pants are too big Betts this week)

Our ruck division was on top, bit worried at one stage that the Carlton trainers might get pretty busy carrying a wad of Kleenex tissues out to each centre bounce........

Balla had a rip roaring go.

Silver, does he know the word "no chance", gutsy player.

Coloumbo looked ok, lot's to learn.

Micky B, just keeps on keeping on.

Blueboys, Walker went into the midfield for most of the 2nd half, winning a fair few clearances. Faulks didn't, thought he held him pretty well when he was on him.
Did Faulks played on Walker in the VFL last year?

Yeah, I take back what I said. Just watched the replay and most of Walker's possessions came through the middle or when Faulks wasn't opposed to him.

He spoiled well and his ball use was consistent. I underrated his game a bit.

Alex Silvanghi emerging as an option for our next skipper.

Subans tackle in the goalsquare and second effort.

Ballas second half.

That's about it.

I shouldnt have forgotten Clarke, Tony Micale is a smart man he doesnt make statements about players unless he's positive.

Called Judd the best he'd ever seen after one WAFL match, said Clarke would be the next Cox.

Man has form.
