Needs hopefully he takes No.3 because he reminds me a bit of Jarman

Considering we kicked 27.9 against Essendon I honestly see us kicking 30 with Menzel lol.
Literally if our forward line plays the team game and is not too selfish it will absolutely annihilate sub par defenses.

Don't forget Menzel will most likely be taking the 2nd best small defender and Cameron the 3rd best.
Cameron would eat them for breakfast every day of the week, Menzel the same. Luke Brown couldn't even contain Menzel.
Totally, Brodie Smith couldn't handle Menz either, then Sando put Pods on him...

Sydney would be utterly mad to get rid of a guy like that. He ain't going anywhere IMO unless he's given them word of looking to explore free agency next year.

His manager said 2 weeks ago he'll sign for Sydney by Christmas, Ned Guy is one I'd take on his word.

The decision to go for Menzel makes the list mathematics even more complicated. Assuming the Menzel/Kerridge deal goes ahead as reported, the picture will be as follows:

OUT
Reilly (ret), JPod (ret), Siggins (ret), Martin (delisted), Dangerfield (traded), Kerridge (traded)

I'm also assuming that Wright will be delisted, given that we're desperately short of list space and he remains uncontracted.

Total List Vacancies = 7

IN
Menzel (trade), Seedsman (trade), Hampton (trade), Gore (trade)
We are also expecting to upgrade ROB and Kelly (more on this shortly).

Total List Positions Required = 6

We currently have picks 9, 13, 68, 86.

The number of permutations are beginning to dwindle at this point in time.

What we do know is this:
  • Excluding the rookie upgrades, we have 3 list vacancies available.
  • All clubs must make a minimum of 3 draft selections at the National Draft. Rookie upgrades count towards the total.
  • With selections #9, #13, #68 (and #86), it is certain that at least one rookie will be upgraded. The alternative is to use #68 as a live selection.
  • That leaves 2 vacancies, with #9, #13 and a rookie upgrade to do it. There are a number of options here...
    • Delist/Trade another player, thereby creating a 3rd vacancy (and possibly another pick to be swapped).
    • Use picks #9 & #13, but only upgrade one of the rookies.
    • Use pick #13 to upgrade the 2nd rookie (highly unlikely).
If redhorse is correct, and there is another player on the cards, the maths becomes even more difficult.
  • Trading for a "big fish" would almost certainly result in us losing one of the 1st round selections.
  • We would have 5 players coming "in", but only 7 going "out", leaving us unable to reach the minimum 3 draft selections. We would have to create another list vacancy, by trading or delisting another player.
  • We would have no choice but to upgrade both rookies, just to reach our quota of 3 draft selections.
Bye bye your beloved

What's the record thread size for this board?

Could be challenging it by the end of the trade period if some bombs drop over the next few days
no, a thread about some player called dangerfield 43 000 posts
