Great to come away with a win but gawd what a scrappy game. Know it's only March but the skills of both teams made me cringe at times. Was like the ball was dripped in oil.

To play bad and win is good but i'm a bit worried about the Captain. Never seen him do so little and us still win.

Worried about the russian too. We got killed out of the centre.

I think Russian IS still improving but PJ went ahead of him as Whitey's understudy tonight. That role calls for versatility that's years away for MJ. PJ only needs to be a worry up forward & competitive in the ruck to get the nod for mine.


Initial observations from the game.

- Hot as buggery in that Dome, oppressive from siren to siren. Not a breath of wind anywhere.

- Early on I thought same ol Dees, we slip over & they stand up...

- One really good period got us home, the rest of the night they shaded us I thought.

- Physical contact is now offically against the Rules

- Carna Hawks, want another opportunity to see us live!

sylvia improved on his effort last week with another good performance... feel he needs to use the ball a bit better, tended to blaze away a little, but he certainly found plenty of the footy, and ran all night... think he could be in for a big season...

Neitz is going to be ok, he never really sets the world on fire in the preseason. Also I believe this was his first match for the year as he missed last week and the intraclub game.
I didnt think any of the blokes who came in did very good last night.

I thought it was a good win considering no-one really stood up above everyone else, it was mainly a team performance and at this stage of the year that is all we can ask for.

glad to see another win... closer to that grand final... altho as ive said time and time again, i couldnt care about this cup... i am just hoping we perform well in the real season... the one that counts... i just think, wow carlton played so well in the nab cup last year n then played poor through out the season... i dont want that to happen to us...
