Wait what? you want Longmire sacked?

 that's going early. Yes there are concerns, but let's see how this season goes first!

It's just absurd they probably is a completely legitimate reason we are easing Mitchell through considering his injury history.

But yes Mitchell as a sub is completely wasted he is not a impact player which could turn a game in 10mins, he needs to play a full game.

I think I got it. Sydney rarely show the world how they will play in the preseason. So therefore we are trying to keep Tommy a secret and then when nobody is taking notice, BANG! Our clearances vastly improves because of young Tom!

After giving it some more thought and people mentioning his injuries, I think early on he might do a bit of work as a forward but by seasons end if he gets over those injuries, he will be in the guts of it

As the title suggests and further to discussions about the 'locked' Mitchell thread (which has now been merged with this one), this thread is for general Swans- and player- related questions/discussion that don't warrant their own thread.

Mcglynn, Mcveigh, KJack all missing before Mitchell was aloud a mid rotation on the weekend. My gut feel is that Mitchell is not named to play round 1. If this occurs just like how people power got Roosy in, I think it will be time people power gets Longmire out.

We have no plan B, we have no inkling of beating Hawks and we may have no Mitchell. Hes not the master coach everyone rates him as, we are a one dimensional team that gets belted in clearances.

You didn't happen to be a Richmond supporter through the 90's did you?

Josh Kennedy looks noticeably slimmer at the moment. Also keeps saying he wants to play forward more often this season.

I do love that nobody bothers talking about him in the offseason because we all know that he's never not going to be anything but a beast. His 5 Skilton finishes since joining the club are 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 2nd. A remarkable run only beaten by Kirk's crazy run of 6 top two finishes between 2003 and 2008.

not bad given the other northern clubs

Brisbane 22523
Gold Coast 12214
GWS 9346 (lol they could all travel together)

only tally 44083 combined

Makes a mockery of salary caps. Swans players can't make the off-field celebrity dollars that Melbourne based players can. I don't hear Eddie complaining about that

Good point. Port are not our problem but, curiously enough, they look the team most likely to trouble the Hawks (and should have won the PF in 2014 if the umpiring had been fair). The need for revenge aside, I'd be OK if we faced Port in a GF after they swept Hawks aside. Certainly a better class of fan at the game.

Has anyone noticed the change in tone from players regarding "ambition"? Before the message was quietly confident, never brag outright, but the most recent vid from Macca is pretty adamant that they want to win a premiership badly to atone for last year. The rhetoric is very determined and steely.. Let's hope it translates to action on the field

Any other team besides Hawthorn last September and we would be celebrating our 2nd flag in 2 years.

Hawthorn are a great side, we are a great side, Port are an emerging great side ....

In last years PF Port went out to play and they only just fell. We went into the GF listening to all the plaudits, believing we only had to turn up and our talent would get us over the line ... we all know what happening because we didn't tackle.

A good kick up the arse and stop listening or believing our own hype should see is again as a major threat this year. Our hunger should never be bigger, our team is in the prime and getting back to the ferocious tackling side we have been will see us in another Granny ... let's hope we don't fall at the final hurdle again.

we're in a similar position to hawthorn in 2012, all they had to do was show up.

im hoping our team shows their true character and respond in a similar way
Ridiculous comparison. Hawthorn fought til the bitter end in the 2012 Grand Final, not many gutless efforts there.
