The fish shop near Woollies in Warrnambool has the best goddamn scallops. Farken yummo.
I used to love the potato cakes at the Dolphin in Sandy Bay, Hobart. As for scallops, go to Tassie.

I love scallops but the scallop boats used to dredge the sea bed, ripping up delicate ecosystems. I hope scalllop fishing has improved since those days. I like Abalone and Crayfish even more. Again Tassie's the place

Hopefully bedford can take me there one day. :D

Get him to take you fishing. Tassie is a fishing paradise. My brother has a shack (beach house) on the East Coast. My nephew would don his diving gear and disappear for an hour, coming back with fresh crayfish and abalone. The fishing was incredible. Lots of flathead but my favourite fish was Gurnard. Most people throw them back rather than deal with all the spines but handled carefully they'll give you a couple of the tastiest fillets. Dipped in egg, coated in breadcrumbs, lightly cooked on a bbq. Delicious.

Sorry I have to pull you up on this - membership figures from 2023 have us as the 10th placed team for membership, just below Adelaide and above Port. Considering SA is a footy state and NSW traditionally don't buy memberships, that's not bloody bad and we've come a long way this century.
That's what i was thinking

The Gurnard toastie perhaps ?

I don't know about Gurnard on a toastie but I wouldn't mind trying it raw. I like eating very fresh fish raw, sashimi style. Be that trout, kingfish, mackerel, scallops, octopus, there are so many good things from the sea to eat raw. Or grab a few sheets of Nori, make up some sushi rice, add pieces of avacado, peppers or whatever and you can make your own sushi or californian rolls. Some vendors at Sydney Fish Market will even cut your fish ready for eating raw. It's fresher and a lot cheaper than buying Japanese takeaway.

Or ceviche. Bloody yummo.

You need to add the tv rights deal and this becomes a plausible conspiracy theory.

season 4 monty burns GIF

Also try work in something about "Gillon being replaced by "Dillon"
The TV right deal was more to do with this. Two more teams means more markets. Expansion of viewing. Even though Sydney folk say they don't watch the Giants the League's & RSL clubs are packed for their games, Sam's as ours.

Do we have any accounty types in our midst? Apparently the club had a roughly $417K 'financial operating loss' for the last financial year but a nearly $11M 'statutory profit'. What gives?

Without reading the financial report, it likely would have to do with paying off the new headquarters (the loss) and the grants received to help fund it (the profit). We would've made a profit if we include the grants, but without them we made a loss.

This post is especially for JHWF: you should acquaint yourself with a player called Zippy Fish. Not only is she quick, but with a name like that, what's not to love? She's a good chance of getting drafted this year - she's in the AFL Academy and from WA.

I might be incredibly naive - but who is JHWF?

Jason Horne Wanda Francis?

Know some people weren't keen on the 150 year scarf and Guernsey. I just got mine. Guernsey looks better in person than the photo and the scarf is stunning. So soft to touch and looks amazing. Worth it if you are thinking about it but combined they were like $200 so understand if that's too pricy for you
