Listen , it's a joke between the only King and 1 , try and lighten up , oops i forgot what you stand for !

Sorry, my mistake. I thought you were enlightening us mortals about gender diversity.

Now that you mention it, I can see you were just reaffirming your subservience to His Holiness. Perhaps such demonstrations should be kept behind closed doors in the form of a personal message?

Nothing for you to worry about sport , maybe you can close the door on the way out .

This one is an interesting one, I am supposing the dogs coached him during the draft talks to ensure we lost interest?
Could be possible, but I just read it as they saw something in him that the swans obviously didn't, which is obviously off the mark. I don't think beverege would publically allude to draft tampering, I just think it's him pumping up his own tyres.

Edit: it just occurred to me I don't think he was coached. There's a video of dunkley looking at his drafting/career that I've posted here before where he genuinely appeared surprised that the swans didn't draft him and seemed unaware of what led to us passing on him. So based on his reaction in that video, I think he assumed he was going to the swans but we decided against it.

By all means… I’d hate to deny The King! of, what must truly be, one of life’s great pleasures.

I actually am not following the conversation at all sorry not sure why I am involved

I thought there was a clear issue with the go home factor that Dunkley snr had some issues with as well wanting the kids to be close to home which was a bit of a trigger for the Dogs..?

Yeah, I believe the swans were into Dunkley because of his obvious talents, but the strained relationship with Dunkley snr, as well as them making it known that he had a preference to stay in Vic were 2 strikes, so the swans thought it best to just give him a miss and not have to worry about losing him to a Vic side down the road.

Who really knows, either way Dunkley wpuld have eventually been either 1. Squeezed out or paid overs to stay, so it's probably an irrelevant conversation.

I was just pointing out the the swans encounter those issues whenever we make a recruitment / contract decision, whereas Vic clubs have a plethora of home-grown talent, and only have to consider which player is the most talented/ best fit. We have to wade through a bunch of other considerations on top of that. And Dunkley is evidence of that. If we were still based in South Melbourne Dunkley is almost certain to have at least started his career with the swans.

Dunkley can't kick, or maybe thats how I console myself
Unrelated pop quiz, which of these midfielders has the highest disposal efficiency:

Errol Gulden
Isaac Heeney
Chad Warner
Luke Parker
James Rowbottom
Josh Dunkley

Also unrelated: miles above them all is of course George Hewett

now now be fair , where did I claim our midfield could kick?

Dunkley is a gun imo

Only 25 big body and works hard for his team

Walks into out side

Well yes he would, trouble is he would rather keep walking

He’s a gun … for hire.

Similar to Tom Mitchell, he’ll just adopt the “I’m not playing the position I want” card - which is code for “I smell more money over there”.

Problem for Hewett is he only gets to do it for half a season

Think I just saw Ted Richards in Coles.

Got a whole bag of Brussel sprouts

Negative nancies have infiltrated this board over the last few weeks so I'm shifting towards something positive and I want to take a second to geek out over my new desktop background pic.

There are footy images and then there are footy images. This one from the prelim final is one of the best ones I've seen.

Compositionally speaking it's brilliant. The biggest name in the game is in the background there, but the photographer's focused on two youngsters celebrating getting into their first grand final instead. Just the joy and raw happiness as they appear to be miles away from their teammates, just embracing, the big screen and the epic new stand at the SCG a world away in the backdrop.

But it's made even better by the fact that it's these two - second and third in our best & fairest and our two highest-rated players over our finals series, both 21 years old (at the time.) And it captures their essence perfectly - Warner rapturously and boisterously pulling his teammate in for a hug; Rowbottom with the reliable, steadying hand around the waist.

Am I reading too much into one image? Probably. Do I care? Not really. Will it only grow in its charm over the next decade? Absolutely.

So good

The leasehold for the Raglan Street watering hole, The Rising Sun, has changed hands not long after the pub hosted a crowd of Sydney Swans supporters watching their team suffer a scorching loss in the AFL Grand Final to Geelong’s Cats.
