Cost was the factor i was told a few years ago the costs were upward of $6000 for the night.
I work in the industry and $6000 for stream would be on the cheap end unless the ballroom they were having the function in could do a package deal

She wouldn't give me the exact figure i guess :moustache:
Just staffing on this type of event would require:
  • Min 3 cameras
  • 1 calling director
  • 1 audio controller
  • 1 lighting controller
  • 1 vision controller
  • 1 technical director
You could combine the calling director could also be the TD but in big spaces like that? I doubt it

Event would go for, let's say 2-3 hours. This team would be in for around 5 hours (2 hours before, 2 of show, 1 after minimum) and would be charged out at around $100 per hour each (TD would be closer to $200, camera guys might be less or less hours so let's say $100 for easy maths). So 8 staff at $800 per hour for 5 hours is $4,000 before you factor in equipment charges, consumable charges, set up time and pack up time.

Are we Picola Football Club? If we have to scrounge a couple of grand on the B&F we must be skint LOL

Get one of the sponsors to cover it ffs. Surely the members deserve to watch it. Pathetic from the club if they're being cheap again.
Be curious to know how many people did actually watch it

Don’t we usually have a Skilton Count Thread?

Given

If members were notified and the streaming was marketed I reckon several thousand.

With the great man’s elevation as a Legend in the Australian Sports Hall of Fame, I’d watch if only to see Bobby being given a standing ovation.

AFL clubs using machine learning to manage their fan databases, predict fan behaviour etc etc

OK, not surprising but a bit alarming that somehow '700 analysts' have access to the fan databases? I assume 'analyst' means club marketing/data mining team plus external contractors. Seems a lot 🤷‍♂️

I sincerely hope they're scraping the BF Sydney page. It's gotta be causing a lot of puzzled conversations about potato cakes.
