Potential training breach?

By July it sounds like we will largely back to normal nationwide, obviously without crowds, that would have to factor into any sanctions for such a minor indiscretion.

If you're dumb enough to believe a group of players got together in the city or anywhere more than once without being spotted then I can't help you.

... who said in the city?

way to go adding details to twist an argument.

Because they haven't been allowed elsewhere. It's hardly an argument as well, that would require me to put some effort in.

West Coast and Fremantle can't play at home, neither can we at least in the short term.

Tasmania have told Hawthorn to stay away.

This season is a disaster.
Unless you are a Victorian team. Then it's all coming together beautifully.

I'm waiting for the AFL to compensate Vic teams for non-Vic teams using their facilitates

Eddie would certainly use it as a business opportunity. I would too.

I hope they take all our points this year and fine us $2m, as long as we keep the picks :)

Then we can just put our hand out for an AFL handout for which they will demand to have a say in how the club is run :)) ) and we get to keep pick 1!
The AFL running our club could actually be the best part of that sadly

Jake Niall pushing for a hefty fine that'll significantly dent our coffers. Good idea in the current economic environment for sure!
I can see it now:

"AFL fine AFC $600m for intentional breach of AFL equity rules".

Yet old mate Derwayne thinks we deserve draft sanctions for some perceived advantage that will be dwarfed by having to play home games interstate to start the season.
Playing away for the season is already penalty enough imo

As allowed by SAPOL. You really think this has happened before yesterday ??

I would hate to live in your mindset of constant negativity and pessimism

It's called realism, not negativity.

Also 'allowed by SAPOL' is disingenuous.

They were not in any way allowed by SAPOL to break quarantine let along gather in groups larger than 10 to train.

Never though this bloke would be a voice of reason:

What is the proof the AFL and SAPOL authorized it?

Given they're both investigating the Crows I think this is a clear sign there was no such authorization.

No one has said they broke quarantine laws yet as only SAPOL knows what agreement was in place.

This still makes no sense to me. Victoria had 5 new community transmission cases yesterday. They could be on the brink of an out of control explosion in cases for all we know. But, yeh, let's play Football in Victoria. It's just stupid.

The best solution would be a hub in SA or WA. Players are so entitled that they can't possibly not sleep in their own bed for 5 or 6 weeks. Give me a break. The pandemic has made me see the players and league in an honest light. Well, i already knew the vfl was corrupt tbh and already knew the players were entitled whingers but this only further reinforced it. Just scrap the season. Let the players realise the game doesn't revolve around them after their pay is cut 70%.
Whilst it may be the best solution (and I agree, it is the safest option for the players), the state governments in SA and WA have both said no to having hubs

Agree completely, in terms of WHS its deliberately exposing employees to a potential risk that could be minimised or avoided. God help the AFL if players get sick

They had authorization to stay at the hotel and use the public golf course for training, provided they adhered to social distancing laws, that much is known. The size of training groups allowed is yet to be outline, which is why SAPOL are investigating what was allowed before making a statement. Until SAPOL say otherwise, it appears we broke the AFL rule only.

Lol you really are thick aren't you. The club says we have 16 players, we want to put them all in one place.

They say fine.

We haven't had them training in a group bigger than 10, so we broke no laws.

Club says it was a group of 8. They are not breaking quarantine by being out on the oval at a hotel where they are the only guests, and the only people on the oval. So they haven't breached any state laws, just the AFL ones. That is realism
