Yeh i think Justin McConnell would be up there as a potenial VFL draftees. At 23 he has gone through a few clubs- Bacchus Marsh, Darley, Ballan, Western Jets for a few games, Angelsea and now North and he is starting to consolodate as a very good play in the V.F.L.

Mite be a bit old though but is a good bloke.

His dad Dave (Summers) made him as a player.

Justin Crow (former Pies rookie) anyone? Was good in the state game.
New role down in defence for the Bullants.

There are probably worse than him going around but he's had a few years.

kris pendlebury, ex vic country last year playing with bendigo just truned 19 and has a ready made body of a afl footballer and athletic ability is great gets the ball unlucky not to get drafted last year. will go close this year.

Just a footballer.
Has a crack, but just doesn't get enough of it at senior level. Does use it well though. He has had limited game time, but he is a long way off AFL level.

His brother is a chance to go high in the draft though.

doesnt get much game time in senoirs, and u then say doesnt get enough how des that work im sure if given the oppurtunity will go well, gets in the best for the 2nds most weeks just not given the ground time, when this comes he will be a great player

Carn Jacko]
or Andrew Burchell for North Ballarat
Any thoughts on Burchell.

I've seen Burchell, big strong bloke. I reckon he's got some talent. I like to hear what the rest of yous think of him.

I said he doesn't get enough of the ball, but the lack of ground time doesn't help his cause. When he is on, he needs to get more of it.

To be a potential AFL player he should be demanding game time and at the moment he isn't.

Is Djaren[?] Whyman a chance. I know he's been on the Hawks rookie list before but always seems to get his 2-4 goals a game as an opportunist forward. Not as good as Davey or Lovett but the type of player that's very "in" at the moment.

Markham Johnson from Tasmania Devils big man 205cm 95kg. Agile, Raw Ruckmen still learning the game but has plenty of improvement. Mobile and covers the ground well.

Liked the look of McConnell (North Ballarat) vs Werribee outstanding game reads the play very well and provides plenty of run off HB line and is excellent overhead maybe a query on his pace.

Ross Young from the Bullants looked good as well quick elusive goalkicking midfielder dominated at VAFA level last year with the Uni Blues. Carlton will be interested I reckon in at least rookie listing him at the end of the year.

Was down at Coburg today, spotted a few familiar faces who would have been there scouting with no TAC games on today.

Michael Rix played a terrific game at full back, I know Richmond had him down there pre-season. Would they still be keen? He's getting on a bit age wise (in terms of being too old for a rookie spot) but how did the Hawthorn/Box Hill fans like him last year?

He improved alot towards the latter half on last year as he became more of a presence around the ground and held his marks. Think Hawthorn almost promoted him at the end of the season. But, I dont think he'll ever make AFL.

I personally think that he should at least be rookie listed by an AFL club, even if it meant that he had to move interstate.
Have a feeling he is now too old to be rookied.

yeh we had him with us and put him in coburg to see if he was worth picking up and he was told if he plays well enough he will get a go with us next season

Would love to see Podsiadly get a game, family friend of ours, he's a great player, and would be suprised if the dogs didnt give him a crack next year, they lack a tall forward he could be a try for them.

Yeh wouldn't suprise me if he went, exciting player. How old would he be now though?

About 22.

I'm adamant he'll never make in as an AFL player. He's found his niche.

Any thoughts on Liam Picken (Son of Billy)?

Have noticed his name bobbing up in the Willy reserves best player list on a number of occasions this year and I see he has even cracked it for a senior appearance in the last couple of weeks.

Whyman is 22, you never know some players don't get a start until later than that sometimes.
