POTY:
5. Walker - Responded in outstanding fashion after a down game last week. Thrashed his opponent and set up a few goals as well as kicking 4.3 himself.
4. Rutten - Another who responded pretty well after last week. Battled manfully down back all day, full credit to him for doing so without Bock down there.
3. Thompson - Outstanding in the first half, but not as dominant in the second. He needs others to stand up and give him some support.
2. Johncock - Gave Aker a bit too much space but was generally pretty good. Love his intensity.
1. Tippett - Showed a bit in the ruck today. Our best ruckman by a mile.

BTM:
3. Tippett
2. Doughty
1. Rutten

ROTY:
3. Walker
2. Otten

POTY:
5. Walker - I'll leave it to the other 900 5 votes he'll get to explain why.
4. Tippett - His aggression and athleticism is yummy.
3. Knights - Whip him now!
2. Thompson - Outstanding in the first half, but not as dominant in the second. Was killing it.
1. Rutten - Spent most of the game picking up team mates loose men.

BTM:
3. Rutten
2. Walker
1. Douglas

ROTY:
3. Walker
2. Otten
1. Dangerfield

POTY

5. Thompson - The poor bugger must have wondered why he busted his arse so much the way that some of his team mates coughed the ball up so easily with diabolical skills. Thommo's effort and physicality was superb - right back to his best.

4. Walker - Genuine break-out game for an extremely talented just turned 19 year old. His work rate was high and his class was obvious. Our best forward prospect since Modra. Has to be a very good chance for the Rising Star award this week.

3. Knights - Classy effort compared to some of his team-mates. His usage of the ball was excellent - something which could not be said of the majority of his team-mates. Ah well - the whippers out there will just move on to another whipping boy - Douglas perhaps??

2. Tippett - Stats don't tell all the story. Tippett set an example on desperation and effort which helped us match it with the Bullies in the first half. Rucked well and fought on when the ball hit the ground, plus a couple of very nice contested marks. A gun of the future.

1. Otten - While others like Stiffy had more of the ball (and made more errors) Otten had his fair share and used the ball well, besides tackling like a demon. For me he was the pick of the defenders. Has had a great year and he too must have a Rising Star Nom just around the corner. A class act and a long term player of the future.

Best Team Man

3. Thompson - see above

2. van Berlo - while he made some terrible clangers, his desperation was 2nd to none and did a lot of work that would have gone un-noticed in the packs.

1. Johncock - would have made the best players with his 100% effort and run but made some costly unforced errors with poor disposal and choice of options.

ROOKIE

3. Walker - Outstanding game from this young forward. A star in the making.

2. Otten - Carried on his great year with another fine running display from defence. Developing into a class act.

1. Dangerfield - While he didn't get a real lot of it his in the pack work was outstanding. We are definitely watching the Roo being re-born. :thumbsu:

5. Scott Thompson - Great first half, quieter in the second but tried his guts out all day.
4. Taylor Walker - His breakout performance IMO. Got a fair bit of the pill, kicked 4 goals as well as setting up others.
3. Chris Knights - Welcome back Knighta!
2. Kurt Tippett - Did well in the ruck, great contested marking. Great performance.
1. Ben Rutten - Was solid in defence all day especially without Bock.

3. Kurt Tippett

POTY:

5- Scott Thompson - Well right back into form with this great game from the best player we have. Yes i said it hes up there with Tippett and Bock as the best players on our list at the moment. Clearance machine.

4- Taylor Walker: YES! Finally had his break out game, dominated general play. If a 19 year old kid can do this, why can't our mid range and veterans do something close to this? 4 Goals and 20ish touches. Great game.

3- Chris Knights: Showed how much we really missed him, got a lot of the ball and kicked 3 good goals. Is probably our second or third best mid at the moment with vince, Thommo being first.

2- Kurt Tippett: Desperate and willing. Puts 100% into every minute of every game, shows that skill isn't everything. (But don't worry he has plenty of it).

1- Ben Rutten: Stood up without Bock, spent most of his day fixing other team mates mistakes. Very good game from the big fella.

BTM:
3- Scott Thompson: See above.

2- Ben Rutten: See above.

1- Nathan Van Berlo: Always made up for his clangers. That one contest where he made 2 smothers/tackles IIRC and then ran onto the loose ball was fantastic.

(wanted to fit walker in here somewhere as well, but couldnt.. He did some spectacular things, some selfless ones too.)

ROTY

3 - Taylor Walker: See above.

2 - Andy Otten: He will either win or be runner up for the rising star. Consistant as all hell and reliable.

1 - Patrick Dangerfield: Had a decent game, had some very nice pack work though, continues to be a very good future prospect.

Anyone that doesn't have Walker, Thompson and Knight in the best players either didn't watch the game or knows nothing about football :)

POTY

5. Scott Thompson - Absolutly brilliant inside. Nice and tough, quick handball releases from the packs to running players. I thought Thommo along with Tippett and Walker carried us, especially in the first half.

4. Taylor Walker - A break out game. Could have easily kicked 5 or 6. Gave Tom Williams a bath early and Everitt didn't fare much better. Loved his little tap back to turn Williams inside out. Then he ran onto the ball himself, was a bit indecisive (should have gone for goal) but handballed off to Porplyzia for his first miss of the year.

3. Chris Knights - IMHO his best game for the club. Got a fair bit of the footy, ran and carried, kicked 3 goals and got plenty of contested possesions. Its really a bit unfortunate for Knights this week because any other game and he would likely be a run away BOG but Thompson and Walker pulled out a couple of pearlers themselves.

2. Kurt Tippett - And this is exactly why we need him in the ruck. By far our best ruckman both in aerial contests and at ground level. I thought he was great and his first half in particular was exceptional. Ripping mark that he kicked a goal from as well!

1. Ben Rutten - I thought he was very good today. Kept Welshy out of the game and covered a lot of his team mates mistakes.

3. Taylor Walker - See above

2. Andy Otten - Mr Consistency. Unlucky not to make the top players. Very poised under pressure and actually looks to create. He did show his nerves a little bit in the 3rd quarter when he kicked to the outter HBF to one of our trainers :D

1. Patrick Dangerfield - Might not have been flashy but his attack on the ball, desperation and hunger to get the contested footy easily set up at least 2 goals today. He seems to do his best work on the members side (I sure an hell am not complaining about that :D)

Same for me please.

Interesting that Otten is still 4th in the betting for the Rising Star award, despite the fact that he hasn't been nominated after 6 rounds - and should be behind Tex for a nomination this week.
