How good was it to see this guy back?

He had an Immediate impact & inflicted some devastating damage in his short bursts. The man's a marvel! 2 great goals too, what more could one ask? We missed him desperately last season.

Johnno, what a gun!

Neeta, really stood up & used his strength, his fierce tackle on Graham set up McDonalds goal at the start of the last quarter. Great too see.

I really enjoyed todays game.

agreed completly!!
powell was fantastic!! and i'm sure he'll give us a huge lift throughout the rest of the season.
jono, well there's not much to say, he was brilliant, and showed his true form (i'm, hoping that was his true form :) )
and lastly neita... geez, those goals, and his boosts... i'm hoping he wasn't just having a good day and that he really has lifted his form... but yeah, he too was great!

As long as he doesn't break down with ostidis, ostio, er, groin problems...

Fingers crossed he doesn't though, like i said, he is a gun player

If you get a full season out of him, he'll be up there for the B&F again, no doubt

He IS over these groin problems, and he WILL play all year... (Yes I am trying to convince myself as well! :D )

nah, i reckon he'll be fine!! during the match i was a little worried about his accuracy but i taped the match and just watched it now and he was fine. i reckon he'll do nothing but good for us!
-PC28- don't worry, you're not the only one that can't pronounce it!

Great effort by Powell. He got me to my feet when his first kick was a goal. You could not imagine a better start.

too true. come to think of it, its lucky he had a solid pre season - otherwise his form may not have been up to scratch... but it is, so yay for us

I think osteitis pubis is a condition which is aggravated just by activity in that region of the body (OY! Minds out of the gutter, people!).

In other words, doing strenuous, undisciplined running will aggravat the injury, whereas taking some time off (as Powell has done) will help you get over it. But you're never completely over it.

This is just from my fragmented, unreliable memory, so it may not be completely on the money (or anywhere near it).

I just hope that Powell and anyone else who has this injury looks after themselves. It would be a tragedy for a career to be ended by this condition.

i think it might also be hereditary. his brother had it for close to 4 years and really stuffed his career up. so it has to be nursed and time is a major factor in the healing process

Well done to powelly in his return game on Monday.I was at the game and he was one of the best players for the dees when he came on.Great to see him back on the field again and a great win by the dees.

I'm probably on the wrong board saying this, but did anyone else hear Stephen Kernahan talk about this injury before the Saints-Blues match?

I wish I had "Ostitis Pubitis":D

But seriously, great to see Powell back. I picked him at the start of the year as the "Recruit of the year" and I'm looking good in that respect.

oh well, but yeah i did hear that and it was funny. :p

well i didn't bother reading everything you guys have already said so i may be repeating things you have already said.
At the conclusion of last season i heard reports from a reliable source (garry white) that powelly had been training extremely well and would be playing this season without a doubt! IMO he will be as good for us as he was on the weekend but we can't expect too much! but yeah i think he will really lift the boys

I need some fantasy football help for this week...who should I put in out of Powell, Johnstone and Woewodin. I can choose 2 of these.
Who is likely to play better (stats-wise) against Port this week.

Good luck this weekend, I hope Port can win though.

Cheers,

hrm... at the moment both powell and jono are playing really well. woey might have a good week, but going on last weeks win, thats not too likely. i'd put in powell and jono.

Yes, Shane Woewodin certainly hasn't recovered from his "Post-Brownlow Blues." Maybe he's onto the post-post-Brownlow blues.

i know!!! i was talking to sarah about it the other night - i wish he never won the bloody brownlow! he's gone so uphimself, and he thinks he's amazing, therefor not giving it his everything. the 2's would do him alot of good!
