This is to get everyone a bit of a taste of the action, aswell a buy me a little more time with getting some web stuff for the competition.

Joshhem may want to run this same games in one-day format after their conclusion.

Here are the Scheduled matches:


Allies vs Darkness Eternal (Playing for the Dipper-Hitman Cup)
NSW v Queenslander
WCW v Crocs
The Vics v Big V

Reasons for matches? This is a preview of a blockbuster round :D

Allies v DE .. big enemies, defending champs in each division

NSW v QLD .. big rivalry between NSW and QLD, State of Origin :D

WCW v Crocs .. a lot of feeling between these teams, Crocs stole a few players ;)

Vics v Big V - local derby.

Please submit sides ASAP in this thread. I will then create threads for each game.

This is a test match so i'll leave it up to DIPPER for the team.

Will be great to representing the Allies once again.
The last time I represented the Allies, it was 2002 and we were Premiers! I wonder if they were able to get the booze stains out of my uniform? ;)

We're taking the Dipper-Hitman Cup seriously that's why we've picked a side brimming with experience, DaveW is the only player to make his first class debut in this game & so we wish him well in the pivotal no3 position.

We'll be going out to play our normal search & destroy brand of cricket & let's see how the DE deal with it.

Yeah we were able to get them out it's just the other ones that we had a bit of a problem with.
 
Aaaaah...there's nothing quite like a nice, easy hitout to start the season.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick Porthos my old friend, you're playing the champion club not the Crocs.:confused:

Thanks Dipper. I must say I feel quite privileged to go straight into first drop in my first game with the side.

But I'm ready for the challenge, and set to reward the faith shown in me. :)
 
I'm also making my debut for the allies since I left them 2 seasons ago!

From memory, i was the only allies player in the very first season to make the All-Aussie side!! I just felt like pointing that out! ;)

Ah that's we like to see a player following that fine Allies tradition of putting his own individual performances ahead of those of the team, that's what our back to back Championships was based upon.
None of this fake team spirit stuff for us but the realisation that yes indeed there is an 'i' in team in fact there 11 of them.

Well done mate it's good to see you setting the right example for the new blokes who haven't represented the Allies before, that's why I brought you back, I knew that if anyone could be a role model for the Allies code of self service it would be you.:D

If anyone knows the Latin for 'Every Man for himself' please let me know because I'll make it our official motto.


I want you all to be like a pack of dogs fighting each other for every scrap that is thrown your way, I want the net sessions to be so nasty that the Test matches seem like a stroll in the park.

I want factions, infighting & cliques.

Sorry about this guys. I will be starting the matches tonight.

However it seems the WCW v Crocs game will be delayed as WCW have not submitted their team.

If they have not submitted by tomorrow, I will either make up the team myself and play the match, OR, not play it at all.

I do not wish for the second scenario to happen as the Crocs have done the right thing by submitting their team ;)
