St.Kilda were very disappointing...:D

If you can not win the match, win the fight...:D

COLLINGWOOD faces a nervous wait to find out if star recruit Paul Medhurst will be fit for the start of the AFL home-and-away season after the former Fremantle goalsneak limped off with a foot injury during the Pies' NAB Challenge win over St Kilda on Friday night.
And the Pies also lost first-year draftee Brad ******** to a knee injury in a behind-the-play incident just before half-time at MC Labour Park.
While the incident was not seen by most of the 4000 strong crowd at Carlton, Collingwood defender Nick Maxwell immediately began remonstrating with St Kilda tagger Steven Baker following the clash.

******** should read D i c k.

Dave 'The Boy'

Are you referring to Trevor or John Barker??!! Not sure either of them were playing today!!!!

Oh, and I assume you mean Jim O'Dea, coz there has never been an ODay play for St.Kilda! :)

First and last warning Collingwood supporters.

This is our board. If you want to post on these boards you need to respect our club and the views of our supporters.

If you can't do that, leave.

Spare us the O'Dea/Greening monologues too. You do realise that was 30 years ago?

who played well?

I had to work but after reading the reports from Realfooty (Link) and the Herald-Sun (Link) it appears that our best players were Ball, S Fisher, Armitage and Jones. Being a public forum the views on Saintsational (Link)were many and varied but aside from the players mentioned above Baker seemed to be amongst the best and Birss did well as a negating midfielder.

Some of the players missing included: Nick Riewoldt, Justin Koschitzke, Lenny Hayes, Matt Maguire, Max Hudghton, Leigh Montagna and all three Clarkes. According to Lyon, all bar Maguire will play before Round 1. Personally I doubt Raph will play and there still must be a question mark over Hayes because he's just started contact work at training but it's still a good sign.

Nothing to worry about yet.

Some handy players missing, but we also had Bucks, Rocca, Johnson, Didak, Holland, R Shaw, Rusling & Egan out.

Jones (is he rookie listed?) might be a bit of suprise and might get a few games for Saints as he is a bit of a spark on the wings. Rix went alright in the ruck. Ball's impact was very minimal. Milne was lively and dangerous. The gameplan was stop-start-chip and it is of my opinion St.Kilda need to liven up a bit and get into match fitness because there were heaps of shocking errors.

The umpiring was shocking both ways. Dick injured his leg after falling awkwardly from a super brave bump by Baker on the lightest guy on the ground and 30 metres off the ball.

You'd hope that St.Kilda's style of play was a result of the match just being a run-out and some rusty players, otherwise they've got a lot of work to do.

Not quite the calibre of St Kilda players out but nevertheless it was only a practice match and I'll take the match conditioning, game plan tuning and the sorting out of young players potential any day rather than season proper..

New nickname.. ArmyTank looks like he's set for Round 1. Looks like a goer.. Next week hopefully we get some more seniors back into the lineup and get some match time into them.. Looking forward to season proper! :)

I think some people have trouble grasping the concept of a practice match.

We had plenty of players out. Collingwood had plenty of players out. Therefore the result is irrelevant.

What is important is that we continue to ease our players back into the team and gain some match fitness whilst giving our young players the opportunity to fight for a place in our best 22.

The majority of the Saints players listed above will get some game time before round one and that's all that is important.

By the way it must have been some bump by Bakes to damage the knee of his opponent.

The bump was pretty hard but it was no huge hit, but it was cowardly nonetheless and a good 30+ metres off the ball with Brad "Penis isn't censored neither is pussy so why is..." ******** being blindsighted which meant he fell awkwardly. Yes he was injured because of the hit but that has very little to do with it.
