have the bucks realised boguts potential or have they basically realised they cant make the playoffs and have changed their tactics?

The coach has been trying to save his job so there hasn't been much tanking going on, they just suck. Bogut has been consistantly been getting the ball more since the new year even more so with Mo Williams on he bench.

Bogut gets a triple double against Boston!

Bogut scored 15 points on a poorly 5-14 shooting and 5-7, he got 15 rebounds and 10 turnovers.....

But, he also had 5 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks.

Bogut is a gun. He has had a phenomenal season

Consider that he has to stand there and watch Redd, Williuams and Villanueva throw up bricks allnight. It must be frustrating for Andrew, but his numbers are amazing

I really hope he moves to a real team, cos the Bucks are an absolute joke.

Id love to get Bogut to Utah, but with BOozer and Okur on the frontline it would be difficult.

Anwyay, he will be an All Star next year no matter where he plays

Sounds like Bogut will bne staying and others will be leaving

Hopefully that means they will actually trade a fair chunk of those blokes - you can probably keep one of the three and build a team (Redd I would think), but you can't have that many solo pilots

Looked good this season, they really need to get some guards who wanna pass the ball. They'd do much better if they ran their offense through Bogut and Yi.

They need need to really luck out and win the lottery, draft Derrick Rose and piss off Redd, Mo, Charlie V, Gadzuric and Bell. Hopefully they get some role players that will do the team things!
Geez, they'd have some trouble spending all of that cash

Yeah, no doubt! Had my NBA Live boots on then:D Send them to the Knicks, they don't care about the salary.

In all seriousness they should do a Memphis and have a firesale for all of those guys and only except draft picks and expiring contracts!

I think their future lies with Bogut, Sessions and maybe CHarlie V. I don't know why they matched Miami's offer on Bell, what a waste

Zach Randolph lite. He puts up nice numbers, but is worth roughly -13 wins to any team he joins.

Harsh, but I kinda agree. He just doesnt play with enough fire. I was pretty annoyed when the Raps traded him, but now im happy with it. I dont think he will amount to too much unfortunately.

I think the Bucks need to keep Mo though. He is a good young PG, and that is a valuable commodity. Need to shift Redd somehow though.

Funnily enough Charlie V is a handy trading piece for the Bucks. He has an instant offence (when he can be bothered) and he's on a rookie contract, so he could be packaged with another piece (like Redd who is on max money) to make an attractive offer.

Mo, on the other hand, is as good as out the door already. He didn't play the last five or six games due to an 'injury' and if he is kept I can see a supporter revolt. Apparently there have also been some locker room troubles involving Mo as well. Given he doesn't play defence and the new GM is stressing the importance of it, I'd say it's a fair sign he's on his way out.

The Bucks rookie PG, Ramon Sessions, has been doing a great job in distributing the ball (he got 24 assists in the 151-132 bizzaro game against Chicago a couple of days ago) and he shows signs that he is capable of playing a lick of defence as well, unlike Mo or Redd. At worst he'll be a handy backup guard.

So my best guess is that Mo and CV are as good as gone, and Redd stays unless they can offload him for something worthwhile. But the main reason Redd stays is because of his contract. He still has three seasons at $17 million, so unless a contender wants to blow a good chunk of their cap space, he'll likely stay put.

If you were to ask me to name three geniuses, I probably wouldn’t say Einstein, Newton... I’d go Bogut, Villaneuva, Jianlian...

Sessions.

They need a solid PF to support Andrew, and also a good SF capable of playing some solid D.

C - Bogut
PF - ?
SF - ?
SG - Redd
PG - Sessions

With a high lottery pick, and Villuenava and Mo Williams, they have some currency.

Ends the season with 14.2ppg 9.7 rpg (so close!) 1.8 bpg

good enough stats to be worth $$$ and sort after as a C in the NBA

probably true, 5/6 years in the $40 - 45 million range.

not sure why everyone assumes that he'll be the one who stays, and all the other guys will be jettisoned. could go either way.

It has been about 2 years since I posted on this board, though I do come and read the commentery quite often but the above comment has motivated me to once again post.

Why will Bogut stay and Mo, Redd and CV go?

How about the following reasons:

He is probably the only one amongst them who actually cares whether the team wins or loses a game.

He at least makes an effort to play defence.

He passes the ball and shoots with a half decent percentage (though Mo and Redd are not too bad for guards in this area).

He is one of the more productive young big man in the league and they are far harder to replace then guards.

Once the ball is passed to him he is a half decent go to guy, though his free throws leave a bit to be desired.

Who would I trade from the Bucks team?

Start with Mo, CV and First Round (or Redd and first round draft pick) draft pick for someone like Collison/Willcox and first round draft pick (assuming its top 2) from Sonics.

The trade would give them more fundementally sound young big men (my preference is Collinson) who play decent defence and are strong on both offensive and defensive boards as well as a high draft pick (that can be used to obtain either Beasley or Rose). The only problem is that the deals do not line up salary wise but I am sure that Sonics could throw in a overpaid stiff or two as well.

Anyway these are just my thoughts...
