Predict our starting 22

I have a feeling Guthrie or Smedts might get the last spot ahead of Byrnes (though I rate Shan) but other than that that's our best 22 (taking into account injuries to Varcoe and Wojo). Cowan is probably a bit further back given his lack of pre season minutes, at this stage I'd have two of Guthrie/Smedts/Byrnes plus Brown as the likely emergencies.

I agree with PO.
My pref would be BillyS ahead of Byrnes. We know that shagger can fill a hole but do we know what Smedts is capable of and, more importantly, what he can bring to the table after 50 games. I'd like to see him more through the mid.
Injury list is a worry and we haven't yet got into the season! Varcoe, Menzel, Simpson, Vardy, Wojo - a lot of gold there. (dont want to even think about Boris' problems)
The list of "good enough to step in as required" is handy. Guthrie, Byrnes, Cowan (is he still around?), Gillies, Hyphen, Shroeder & Motlop. Bit short of height is all.
Without Simpson & Vardy for half of this year's journey will test us. Even when available they will be short of match fitness. Hope West & bigO are bulletproof.
Bathie & Walker?
The MC may even be planning on a 2013 full tilt at the flag and be managing the group accordingly.

Friggen hell. So far I have heard on BF that it is a hip, a wrist and now a groin injury.
