$15 (with voucher in the HeraldSun)to get in and kids free should be a great family night out - unlike the over priced AFL.
Good to see a non alinged club with great tradition like Port Melbourne get in.The crowd will depend on the PR during the week and if programs like TFS actually give it a mention Maybe around 15-18,000.

Well looking at the past few matches Port Melbourne have played on TV I reckon they have the largest supporter base in the VFL by a fair margin. Bit surprising since they have no AFL alignment but it's definately good to see. I imagine alot of neutrals will go to the match anyway.
I'm tipping 20,000. It's school holidays, I expect a few north supporters will go, involves a curtain raiser and it's the day before the AFL Grand Final.

I'm so sick of people saying it's a cut-price league, if you love football, you should be able to go most forms of the code, not just AFL, but also VFL and state league ... I'm probably going ot the Eastern league final tommorow as well, Vermont V Balwyn Tigers ...

BTW The VFL isn't the AFL 'ressies' as most people like to assume it is, one of the teams in the granny, Port Melbourne is a stand alone club ..

Port can pull a crowd, more so without affiliation...

Anything above 15,000 would be a bonus imo. But if the AFL and the media get on board for pumping up the game... it will make a huge difference.

the really good thing about it, is that there will be room for the serious footy fans and the people who just wanna have a night out, get a little pissed, watch some good football, its a long time till next season, most peoples teams have finnished for the year, last decent game of the season for most, and relatively cheap night out at the dome!
Gonna be a 1000 times better than the legends game, they get a crowd mid season!

id love to see 15-20k there. The old storm games that pulled about 15k still got a bit of atmosphere.

But surely the VFL would be wanting a Werribee win today, more of an old school flavour about the grannie then (even if one is aligned)

It looks like Port V Nth Ballarat.

Port have a good supporter base. but even in Ballarat hardly anyone follows Nth B so add on a few neutrals and I'd say 7K - 10K.

Should be at Port. Or Princes Park if more than 10K expected.

The Dome is the antithisis of everything the VFL should be about - grass roots community football. I hate going there when Hawthorn are playing so no chance for the VFL.
