Hey all. I've been doing a bit of research on the often-changing alignments in the VFL post-2000 and I've gotten the urge to do a video timeline showing the VFA/VFL's evolution year-by-year. I'm still working out a lot of the details but the idea in my head right now is to format it as an in-season ladder that updates after each round and each season, showing the changing ladder positions, teams involved, and alignments between VFL and AFL clubs.

I'm posting mainly to gauge interest and suggestions anyone might have, but I'd also be really grateful if anyone can contribute hi-resolution copies of the VFA logos and club logos. I can probably find most online but if anyone has logos to add to the collection it'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

On a different note, AussieNick, I’ve been ruminating about your message from some time ago regarding the lack of support from the local community and district clubs.

Over in Seagullville, in the jungle-by-the-sea, during the 1960s to mid-80s, the Williamstown FC was a powerhouse. Why?

The Seagull’s hierarchy scouted and knew the better players in local competitions, offering them training spots during the current year and in the following pre-season’s practice matches. The Willy team always had more than half of their players from local leagues, which encouraged their former teammates and their clubs’ supporters to follow them.

The banter between the groups was hilarious.

Additionally, two local clubs were invited into the ‘Holy of Holies’ during home games, which was very successful and helped build a strong football community. The home crowds were enormous—actually, many more than reported—local residents would come to watch the ‘locals’.

Perhaps Frankston could consider doing something similar, thereby uniting/reuniting with local clubs.

That would be very interesting to visualise AN99, seen similar videos of various competitions around the world, good luck, sadly I can't help with logos.

That's alright. It'll be an ongoing thing and there are plenty of places I can ask around (some VFA heritage pages on Facebook would be a good place to start.)
