Just how "sanitised" has this great game become.

I read on AFL.com of the "wild first quarter brawl" - probably written by someone too young to remember footy even being played at Windy Hill or Vic Park, nevermind seeing a "real" brawl.

Yeah, Browns attack was late, but in the grand scheme of things it was pretty tame. Rotten Ronnie would have dished out 3 of those a game and never even worried about being booked. Even in Rog Merrett's twilight years at Brisbane, it probably warranted a free (plus or minus 50). Nowadays everyone is screaming for Brown to be tossed out for a month or so.

It's not touch footy out there. We've cleaned up the cowardly behind the play wacks (well almost...), lets leave it at that and get on with leaving just a bit of aggro allowed.
