Yes, an outlandish statement, but there is something about this group of kids that we've got, I think we're going places, we no longer rely on the big 4, which probably cost us a premiership atleast 4-5 years ago, we have a good strong group of 21-24 year olds that are really starting to play their best football, and the rookies and kids we have coming in are just ****ing awesome!!

Has the premiership window suddenly been reopened?? (perhaps not this year, but next year or year after possibly?)

8 Weeks ago, I would have laughed historically at this thread,

Now it seems a huge hope. Its amazing how much things change.

You guys have a team that can push for a premiership over the next few years, and will definitely come close. Definitely a chance.

Like your thinking Smooth. Lots can happen and really the shite start to the year has allowed these kids to step up to the plate. I was worried about life after the big 4, but now...its going to be exciting to watch.

The forward line when everyone is back fit and firing eg Porps and Knighta and when they learn how to use each others strengths is going to be awesome. Tippet and Tex could form a combo that can give backman nightmares.

Midfield feeling heaps better with Sloaner coming in and Vince and Thommo are finding form. Douggie and Jaensch around the stoppages and up forward.

Bock?, Rutten, Stiffy, Davis, Otto, Doughty, VB, Symes. A backline that can take any forward line and show plenty of run

Martin, Smack, Gunna, Tahlia? there is plenty to look forward to and who knows??

Maybe a bit OTT, but I'm still running on adrenaline after the win. :p

Will need serious improvement to do so. But we are creating a very promising list that over time should develop into something special.

Wow!
Picking the "Next 5 games are winnable" was a big call - this is HUGE!

But I can't help believing you may just be right again...

GO CROWS!

How good have the young kids been? They've just blossommed int he last 5 weeks.

Hendo, Rory, Jaensch, Tippett, Walker, Davis, Danger!

Couple this with the new form of a couple of the olderish blokes - Dougie, Radar, Stevens, Griffin.

What a MASSIVE change from the start of the season.

And we've got Bock, Otten, Knights and Porps OUT of this 22!

ZOMG!!!

This is the beginning of something truly beautiful:thumbsu:

Play like that and we can beat anyone, this group of players must stay this way now for the reminder of the season (sorry Burton but a lap of honour will have to do) was thinking about it last night what a great group we have and we still have Knights, Bock, Porps, Otten, Sellar, Mckerhnan and Martin on the oustide waiting to push for a spot, scary thought right there:thumbsu:

Mr Smooth, you were around the mark with your other thread so you've got some cred as far as outlandish predictions goes. Hope you're on the money again.

Also you should post more often, because of your avatar.

I'm with you, this is what I argued at the start of the year that the club needed to come to the realisation that Sloane, Walker, Davis etc are going to be the foundation for our 3rd flag and sadly not McLeod, Edwards, Burton and Goodwin who had their time in 2005 and 2006 to snare a premiership.

I also want to send a shout out to all of those who tried to argue that by playing and developing Sloane, Henderson, Walker, Davis etc that we would be "tanking" ;)

I've told you a million times lads! We are a very, very good chance to win our third flag in 2011. Nevermind the next 2-3 years, we have the list to be playing off in a grand final next year.

We have a potential forward line that will keep opposition coaches up at night. (potential means we haven't done it yet) just gives you the warm and fuzzies hey?
Thank god we have forwards who can slot it from a mile out, makes it sooo hard to defend against. Imagine when knights comes back as well.
(they will never introduce the super goal while our lot are playing)
With Tippo and Hendo I am sure there will be lots of AFL scouts trolling the basketball courts this year LOL.

Yeah Our time will come 2011 to 2013- but we need some luck too (no injuries please)

After last night I'm starting to believe.

When is the Great Unveiling of Amer's 2011 Premiership Vision going to happen?

We will be top 4 next year the way we played last night, thats if we continue to believe in ourselves.

We sure do - at least one more season as captain doing leadership skills transfer to otehr captain potentials. His game last night was superb - not flashy but a true captains game. Goody!!!

we need to conVINCE goody to reverse the retirement ASAP and have a crack next year

Kill a couple more giants and we'd find ourselves in the mix this year. If we scraped into the finals it would likely mean wins against a couple of the top 4, which would be better form than last year. We could end up back in the semis with a side that has x-factor up the ying yang baby!

Ofcourse we have to beat port and richmond first.

I just did the ladder predictor and we have 3 tough games: Bulldogs at home, Collingwood away, and Saints here, and inbetween we have some 'less difficult games' against Richmond away, Port home, and Brisbane away. We should beat Richmond and Port, and i reckon we have a big chance against the dogs at home. Brisbane are a rabble at the moment so i would say were favorites for that one. So thats 3/6 and we need 5/6 to secure a finals place, or at the very least 4/6 depending on results.

Port - Win
Richmond - Win
Bulldogs - Win
Brisbane - Win
Pies - Revenge for last year, i'm travelling over to see this one and hoping for a win.
Saints - Lose

Finish 7th and play Hawks/Dogs in Melbourne.

We could make history after losing our opening 6 games to make finals. Wishful thinking i know but its worth a crack.
