Watching again and if Hannebery was a remotely good kick, he'd be one of the best players in the AFL. Would be nice to have Hawthorns kicking coach.

Watching the replay of the game at the SCG, and it's actually convincing me even more that we have the Hawks measure this year. We played very well in that game except for a couple of periods, so as long as we bring the same intensity we've brought to our two previous finals - we have led the entirety of both games - then we're in with more than a decent shot.

Well done to the young Blood Bird. A very composed footballer who fills the 14 more and more every outing.

Absolutely! Cannot believe no one rates us...I'm more than happy to go into this game as the underdog!

So now the big Geish has come and said the goal against Jetta should have been a free against him. I don't see anything else in the article about how they stuffed up the Nick Smith goal and at least paying Reid or Mumford the mark in the square...... Afterall if it's an opposing player they pay the man in front......

I thought the Nick Smith decision was fair enough. Amazing Chelsea was so confident, but she was right on the line with a pretty good vantage point I guess. And I reckon the vision - as explained by Geischen here: (from 5.35 in) shows it pretty squarely. At least it wouldn't have been overruled on that basis.

Yeah, given that she made the right call in calling for the review on the Collingwood non-goal, I'm pretty confident she would have got that one right too.

At the time I was pissed off as it looked over, but you really can't say for certain from that footage.

Yeah I noticed that he mentioned the Jetta goal but no mention of the Tarrant touch over the line that denied us a goal, and she'll be behind the goals again this weekend. I thought the Morton push out was a little dubious also, but maybe I'm staring through the red haze. And to be fair, at one point Morton kicked it in from out of bounds on the flank which resulted in a goal (to LRT I think). That should have been a ball up, so while I hope the umps speak privately about the Tarrant-touch goal denial, I guess it all evens out in the wash.

I guess the Jetta thing is a bit of a warning although it really gets to me that they go out of their way to warn players like Jetta yet Franklin gets his 'natural arc' and is allowed to move way off his line when kicking a goal.

Either way, we're good enough. We can win in spite of the odd dodgy free. Just hope the game is a cracker. With the expected weather, and the amount of money some of us have invested to attend, I hope it is a bloody ripper like 2005.

Apologies. I only just watched that review footage where they talked extensively about Chelsea's decision. Still think we were hard done by, but swings and roundabouts, etc. There were no Collingwood jerseys being worn on the flight home. Not one.

Yeah, they've been red-hot over the course of this season on players in general play moving off the line so to speak, suddenly it's a bit different for players like Buddy when he's taking a shot at goal.

Well, i'm glad those 2 rough decisions involving Tarrant and Reid/Mumford didn't have any ill-effect on the outcome, or it would have been a much bigger talking point than the Jetta goal in the 1st. lol.

gents it is hard to believe that the umpires from fri night's prelim have got the gig for the GF. i believe 8 of the 9 umps will be officiating on the big day. they were absolutely disgraceful in the prelim, lucky the swans were so dominant because in a close game they could have made a massive diff. from a coll perspective i thought we were clearly on the rough end of the stick for the 1st 3 quarters (just a few blatant examples - jetta clearly running too far when he kicked that goal, the mattner non-free inside coll's forward 50 3rd quarter after he took a mark and was called to play on and tackled, some of the non-calls on frees to jolly in the ruck, non mark to swan inside 50 in 2nd quarter). i then thought in the last quarter the swannies got done over pretty badly by the umps, both field and goal

say your prayers that the maggots improve for this saturday. because based on what we saw last fri night, they could be the difference in a close game
