Just like we prioritised a flag push by 2015-2017 as per our then CEOs comments.

Under no circumstances should we prioritise any "flag push" in the next 2-3 seasons.

We need to take a longer view on this because I've already seen what "prioritising" a flag has yielded us at the moment with players we've targeted and brought in and results that have followed.

Go to the draft, get more kids and that's it.

I'm not interested in bringing "senior players experience" because we've lost senior playing experience- which is exactly what this club did throughout the last 3 years.

Our list has far too many holes to start prioritising flag pushes and the same guys responsible for this are still at the club.
That should give nobody any confidence moving forward.

Premiership teams are built on a solid foundation. I believe these players are the most likely to form our next premiership foundation:

De Goey: 21
Grundy: 23
Elliott: 25
Treloar: 24
Langdon: 23
Scharenberg: 21

Aish: 21
Brown: 19
Crisp: 23
Daicos: 18
Broomhead: 23
Moore: 21
Hoskin-Elliot: 23
McLarty: 19
Maynard: 20
Howe: 27

The oldest guy on this list is Howe at 27. The list as a whole hits it's peak in 2-3 years. The foundations have been created, we just need the courage now to see this through. IMO, we must aim for 2020 onwards as our window and as such, all selection and recruitment decisions must be based on that. No more mature recruits until we are about to hit our peak. Go to the draft Collingwood and put anyone not on this list on the trade table. A premiership awaits.

You need someone like a Pendlebury to shape that list and continue to teach them about true professionalism. I'd suggest Sidebottom would be the same but if he wanted out then you'd cash in and let him go.

The issue we have is apart from those two and those that were listed in the OP the rest don't have a lot of trade value.

With the people in charge at the moment- they've already created a mess.

We can ill afford a bigger mess.

There's no confidence in that leadership team at the moment.

It's constantly bad decision upon more bad decisions.

True there have been a few calls that have gone the wrong way, Mayne was one but I can see why he was brought in, Wells makes us better and was always a known risk and we rolled the dice, Dunne proved to be a very handy inclusion after many had written him off.

I don't think we are that far off playing finals and improvement over the off season in list balance and some improvement from the current crop should have us pushing up the ladder.

I feel we are in a similar position to Richmond last year, Buckley needs to take counsel from those around him and be more flexible in our game day product.

Administration seems a bigger issue.
No point trading out players if there is no plan in place.
Last few years we have sought free agents and trades.
Results are negligible.

Don't think anyone fully knows where we are at because the coaching has been so diabolical for the last few years, coupled with injury

Question is will he? As the old saying goes a leopard does not change it's spots. If it true that Nathan is indeed stubborn and "one way"there is one thing that will change our fortunes - if he can change his attitude towards his coaching staff and footy department we'll automatically rise up the ladder and our form will dramatically improve

I like Chris Scott on his attitude to decisions made after consultation with all the coaching staff. I fear you could be right but he has softened over the years.

Maybe so, but he is not Nathan. If the rumors are true about Nathan then I fear he will not change his ways like a switch over the off season
