Okay, I thought you guys might like to know that the demo is already available.

I was tossing up whether or not to provide you guys with the link but, given I got it from a link on the official website, I think that it is fair for me to share it.

http://www.premiership-coach.com/Manual/GettingStarted/Installation.aspx

That's the unfinished manual which is on the website for all to see. Check out the download section. The links there are:

http://www.filedropper.com/premiershipcoach2010setup
http://www.divshare.com/download/10819590-cb1

Those links work. I just installed the game and started up the demo mode. I have barely played it yet so I can't gauruntee that it works. It is apparently version 1.00.41 but that may be some old beta version for all I know.

LOL.

I got banned from the Premiership Coach forum for posting this in there.

It was on their official website...

While the possibility for people to find the demo through the website -> manual was something that I was aware of it is not something that was made public. I'd rather limit the number of incomplete versions in circulation as they make support more difficult after release. Although people finding and checking it out early isnt a problem.

I'd argue that finding a download link in the manual doesnt equate to "it was on their official website".

I'm also going to credit you with enough intelligence to realise that for yourself. It doesnt take a genuis to figure out that if I planned to post it officially I would have put it up prominently on the website, and so posting the links in the official forum probably wasnt going to last long.

The game is actually coming along quite well.

I have put up on the Premiership Coach website "March 25th" as the official release date. And this is something both Ad and I are working to.

Over the next few months I will be doing allsorts of interesting new things to the websites and updating you all with various status updates on our new facebook and twitter pages.

Hope to see you all in there - and thankyou all for your support.

Please don't forget guys this is still a volunteer orientated game. So far no one has made any money out of the game, so please dont attack the guys who also need a day job too. We are all simply footy fans who want to play a decent footy game. Premiership Coach 2010 brings us that one step closer.

Well the manual is on the official site and has a link to it from the front page. I wasn't exactly snooping around for a download link. I just was having a little browse of the manual and bang, there she was.

I don't really care about the forum ban. They were my first ever posts on there. I just found it interesting.

Out of curiosity, how old is that beta version? Secondly, why was there a link to it in the manual anyway? Was it to test out the download sites or something similar?

Downloaded demo. No idea what I'm doing.
Sure it will be a good game once I learn the basics and go through the manual but for me to just go through an actual game looks near on impossible.

On the calender you need to sim to the day after the day your match is scheduled for. A little "do you want to play or sim this match?" popup will come and away you go.

There are some very nice touches in this game. Selecting your team on the preceding Thursday is one of them, along with emergencies (although I'm not sure if they actually do anything). Being able to set rotation plans is nice because there is no way you'd want to manually do 50+ interchanges in a game.

I'll definitely try to full demo (apparently the link I found was a beta version) and heck, for 40 bucks I'll likely buy it.

this is version 1.00.42, if I recall correctly, and the leaked beta was version 1.00.41.

I was under the impression that it was an old beta. I'm not sure why the player records were kept in because they are a bit of a joke at the moment. Lance Franklin kicked 100 goals in 1997?

I don't mind having lots of stats but don't put them in until they are complete.

It was old.

How old? I'm not trying to troll, I'm curious.

According to that numbering system, it's the second most recent version.

Think its about 2 or so weeks old. I haven't played a version of it for a bout 6 months despite being a contributor. Now playing the full version it has changed heaps and is a lot lot smoother than previously. Have not encountered any bugs as yet. Patches will still be released if more bugs come up(constant bugs that appear with a few users)
