Premiership players

Maybe I'm living in the past, but I hate seeing our premiership players leaving, especially to other clubs. :-(

We already lost our dual-premiership ruckman to Hawthorn. Now another, Kane Johnson, from both 1997 and 1998 is heading east.

Vardy's departure was hard to swallow too. (Seeing guys like Rintoul and Sampson go was easier to take though)

And with guys like Jarman, Robran, Caven, Jameson, Pittman, Koster, Connell, James, Ellen, Bond, Keating, Theissen, Eccles (there's probably more I've left out) having retired or been delisted in recent times there are fewer and fewer of them remaining now. Particularly since Bickley and Smart are nearing the end and Marsh's head looks to be on the chopping block as well.

Hopefully we'll have a lot more in 12 months time!

Hold those memories close to your heart - those days will never come again.

BUT

Look forward with great optomism, I am excited about our future and I can see real success just around the corner when another 22 players take that ultimate step!

Things seem to change so often - you get a favourite player, and before you know it, he's gone ..... pffft.

No wonder my daughter's given up on her footy... all her favourites have gone: Bondy, Matty Collins, Aaron Keating, Matty Connell, Andrew Eccles, Kymmie Koster.

I'm just lucky I chose Roo!
