Given that reports had the players having dummy spit and lobbying for the coach to be sacked (later denied, of course, they probably just went up to the office to see if there were any Monte Carlos!), I wouldn't be running around and comparing anything to 2009. We were a middle rung side in 2008. We have given every indication of being the same to date this year.

Mmmmmm...dummy spits & disharmony among the playing group in 2009 to a unified, happy playing group in 2013. Yet another fine example of improvement during Damien's tenure.

But Wallace is a better coach!!!

We should have crushed the dogs without Lids and Maric...
Im sure its a intensity vs gameplan thing, when we over focus on one thing the other suffers, I feel we focus on gameplans too much.
I expect the gameplan to be almost thrown out the door this week and intensity to be the main focus.

I liked Lyon's comments on SEN last week.
Along the lines of, "you blokes (media) over complicate game plans too much, football's a game of effort, we play a simple 1on1 gamestyle and focus on effort".

Yep, probably the most disappointing thing about Cotchins presser. All he spoke about was playing a role blah, blah, blah

Bit of a bland utterance for the press, sante - reckon it might have been a touch different behind closed doors.

Doubtful. Past year or two all our players go on about especially our stars is in their eyes it doesn't matter if they're dominating, as long as they're playing a role. IMO that's why we can't go that extra step. The best teams have stars who play as they like with role players around them. Our best players are our role players with hacks around them

You are on fire!!!

Overall results are without doubt more positive. Only issue is shitful games like Saturday cause the toys to get thrown out of the cot by many on here.
I was as frustrated as anyone, but rather than fire up the torch and brandishing the pitchfork, let's really wait for a stronger sample size, say 8 games, before coming to definitive conclusions.
People talk about game plans, being outcoached, structures etc like they actually know what one is. They would have NFI, and if they could sit down with one of the line coaches and have it shown to them, would have even less idea!
Playing AFL today is not about sticking JR in the goal square and getting everyone to bang it long to him. Would lose every game.
So yes, we are struggling a bit at the minute, but we are still on the tracks. It's 3 games in.

You're full of crap because your logic is flawed. Using your logic, Damien Hardwick is a success because he has gone from 15th in his first year to 5th/7th last year. Using the same logic, Chris Scott is a hopeless bum who is taking the Cats backwards. Slumping from a flag in his first year to third last year.

Now you're just exposing yourself for what you are.
Anfield listed 7 criteria to indicate improvement, not just ladder position.
Just cos we lost a couple of times to Sydney (in Sydney!) you seemed to have found a sea of despair, and lost all perspective.
Get over it, find a positive, there must be one?

Cheers for that mate, I'm done with him as he's just floundering in a sea of inanities. My logic is flawed!!
