PSA: Calm down

If we can't beat that team the BYE then we really are shit.
last week was a bye...

You clearly don't understand my point. The bye is irrelevant, if anything it should have given posters the time to reflect on the season so far and use the opportunity to voice their concerns about the club, the players and the coaching strategies.

But yet only 2 days ago no one seemed to be raising these issues they raise now.

Don't tell me after one match, everything has changed.

Perspective.

BF always has the sky is falling mentality after a loss.
Everyone was a superstar last week and a dud the next.
Many posters are idiots too. You always have to factor that in!

LOL, Kirby! Fortunately, I didn't have a mouthful of beer to spit out. :p

I understood it, I was just having a laugh which went over your head maybe I'll add the smilie next time but i was on phone and didnt have the time.

Yeah sometimes people are OTT or brash in assessments especially straight after a loss and a gut full of JD (looking at myself) doesn't always mean what they have said is wrong or doesn't have some merit.

What player from last night showed that?

People will contest the idea all the same. Winning or losing doesn't make a difference to whoever is defending. For example, you criticise Pendles after a win, someone argues your point saying, he actually had a good game. Alternate scenario, you don't criticise Pendles after a win. Next week, we lose, you criticise him. Someone's just going to say, well he had a good game last week.

And if people are really keeping it to themselves, why is that? This is a two-fold problem, the hysteria is added on when people think a loss is a great time to start hanging shit on players. If people are keeping it to themselves, but are ready to go when we lose, then it just adds more to the case that, they're just hanging shit just for the sake of, hanging shit. That previous performances, that player was actually playing pretty good!

I haven't "really said" anything. Where have I said this in my OP? Like I said, saying player x is unpaid, overrated, mediocre, whatever, is unfounded if it's based off of that one game.

Im talking in general as these type posts or threads are usually also hand in hand with losses and negative comments.

I am saying disagree with the point or even a poster but not everyone is 'hanging shit for the sake of hanging shit', why would they unless they are oppo trolls?

Would be interesting viewing a game with people to point out exactly what you are on about during a game, it makes it much easier for the other side of the coin to sit back and think hang on he kinda does have a point when they see the same incidents and being pointed to them.

As for your first question I wasn't really relating all this to me personally just putting it out there but I will give an example.
For mine I was one in the camp of Cloke will come good and lunacy to drop him as who comes in and fills his structural role as well?
Now im in the camp of I wish we could drop him as it's becoming a Dawes-esque season with him but our hands are tied. He really does deserve to be dropped on form but realistically we can't as despite him being out of sorts he is still a structural piece that would have a domino effect on the team should he miss.

The bloke isn't "overrated" but he is certainly well and truly out of form and some of it is due to his change of game, less leads and more wrestling.
Other part is defenders can sexually assault him and umps turn a blind eye.
So we wait for him to come good as it really is the only option.

I have.

Last night wasn't my best moment, reminiscence of round 1 tbh.

The family cat is MIA,the family dog is still hunkered up in the back of his kennel and the neighbours are looking at me today like I'm demented.

But watched the replay earlier and how people can single out anyone to be dropped is beyond me,the whole team looked lethargic(bye curse strikes again).

They had something to prove and we obviously thought we had nothing to prove and it showed.

Must admit I was absolutely feral last night, so angry and cheesed off at what can only be described as a poor performance. I resisted the urge to vent and rant and rave on here as it's often not a good look in the cold, calm light of day but I understand others feel the need to do so. It can be quite funny reading if it's kept in the correct context of in the heat of the moment.

Some valid points are raised in examining player performance and output, just because these are wrapped up in emotion/anger/frustration doesn't necessarily mean these shouldn't be expressed.

I understand it's an emotional game, and heck, that rollercoaster of emotions is why we're all here.

The emotion and roller coaster replies of fellow Collingwood BF supporters make the site worth visiting and creates debate.

Without the passion of supporters the site would be as boring as bat shit.

Telling people to calm down will not lead to the extinction of passion.

It's understandable to be upset, sad, angry, disappointed & hurt after a loss when it's on paper at least a straightforward win. I think the boys would be pretty embarrassed about the effort and intensity that was on display.
Adelaide beat us at our own game.

I have no doubt they will reflect on it and learn from the experience. Just remember some of these are just kids and not even played 20 games so they probably don't know how to handle the bye, interstate crowd and all the pressure that was applied last night.
A loss like these are character building IMO, as these are the time when you must pick yourself off the ground and start again.

Have a little faith, a little perspective and a whole lot of hope that our team is on their way to something special in the long run.

Go Pies!!!!!!!!

I never said it would, I stated "Without the passion of supporters the site would be as boring as bat shit"!

I fail to see how you feel so righteous you can tell people how to act/ vent (calm down).

Right or wrong they can all voice their opinions as they see fit.

So, in your post, why did you decide to include the line?

I fail to see how you feel so righteous you can tell people how to act/ vent (calm down).
It's not being righteous at all. What a ridiculous statement. I'm offering my opinion, that what they are saying, is illogical, it's premature, it's irrational. I've provided my reasons why, people have contested it here, and I've contested back.

I've even stated, I'm not forcing my opinion on you, I'm not telling you it's my way or the high way, if people choose to ignore it, then go ahead.

But me telling people to calm down is no different than you saying what I wrote in my OP is wrong. It's an offering of a different opinion, rightly or wrongly, and there is no righteousness at all. Wow.

Right or wrong they can all voice their opinions as they see fit.
Where have I written that I don't want people to voice their opinions?

last night we was beaten by the better team crows were fantastic and deserve the win we can do a lot better and we only lost by a bit over 3 goals
yeah I was angry but gee reading some of the posts on here I thought I was on the Richmond forum
all will be forgotten when we smash the eagles nxt week then the saints

Nothing bores me on here more than seeing a group of people whining about the same stuff and being all doom and gloom.

The thread created by you is suggesting/ telling people to "calm down".o_O

All posters have their right to vent and if they cross the line then I thought we had mod's to calm proceedings.

I'm asking them to think about the outrageous over the top claims.

It has nothing to do with not letting people voice their opinions.

Ironic that you're being over the top in your response.

Couldn't agree more.

Your consistent whining about the treatment of Daisy over the past year is proof of this.
Way to make it personal.

Stay classy :thumbsu:

Bitch please. "Consistent"? Not even close. If anything, I've completely ignored it beyond the thread that I made, which was almost a year ago, which wasn't even whining.

2/10. Try again.

You know I was watching a documentary the other day and there was a segment on bats and bat shit.

Turns out bat shit isn't actually that boring at all.
